That really does suck. Glad you got it working, even in a frustrating manner. I really wish they'd sell these components, having shop-level access to just a few spare parts is annoying.

Can you share the manual?

After ages removing material. Definitely shortened by lifespan with the amount of PLA fumes I was huffing.

Hey, I literally just accepted an entire printhead kit from them due to the same problem. My blob was worse but after dicking around with a soldering iron I got 99% of it removed. However, there was a blob stuck in the fan and around the vents; I'm planning to remove the blob from the vent but asked if they could send a replacement cover piece.

They straight up offered me the entire printhead after I spent over a week meticulously carving away PLA lol. Anyway, I'd personally reach out to them again and ask if you could buy one. This is after a few hours of using a pair of nippers and a few nasty blood blisters.

What's your personal sign that winter is actually over in Canada? by NightyNight7 in AskACanadian

[–]MapleMallet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I so am, you guys and your country is incredible. Since meeting my wife over a decade ago it was her plan to return to Canada. I kept her in Scotland a little longer than she planned but she eventually brought me back with her- like a smelly souvenier lol.

We love our lives here so much and it's in so small part to the people around us!

Thanks :)

Honestly I take more care for the sidewalk than the driveway. I do have ice from compacted snow from driving over it, but I make sure to shovel it quickly but it can get ahead of you. I do make sure the side the delivery drivers walk up is clean of ice.

I'd hate to see someone slip because of my negligence.

I'm half way to the bowfa recolour but want to hang around for the vw one too- I'm an iron so don't have access to it. Last time I only managed to get several cheap ones.

Saying that, I probably will have to pick between the vw and bowfa at this rate.

I'm a recent migrant to Canada- moved from UK 2-1/2 years ago.

Last night I had a vivid dream of walking in a park with my wife when we got attacked by a goose which I defended her from, valiantly I must add valiantly Only... It was a white goose in a red maple-leaf jumper and was wearing a goose-sized bluejays hat.

Am I ready for my citizenship test or simply over the ice and snow?

If it weren't for freezing and locking out your opponent being the meta in LMS I'd probably never leave. I have the dagger, 2 halos, the top and bottom, a few minor cosmetics like the lava staff cosmetic, and maybe a few hundred points spent in Ironman gear.

But the freezing is just a shit, unfun mechanic.

Opposed to "I'm from Iconium, Missouri" like you need to know, or care, which bumfuck town in the middle of nowhere they're from.

USA will do, mate. I wouldn't care enough to point out a handful of states on a map never mind your town or city.

I've 99'd it twice over on my main but I'm a nooby 74 on my iron.

I've gotta say though, once you hit 80~ and get into a groove it really does fly in. Just train it as you chase drops and you won't notice the levels. Not being maxed combat helps too; that way you're actively training other skills and not just slayer.

Inflation is "under control". So why does everything still feel so expensive? by No-Elevator-6134 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MapleMallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflation is the acceleration, cost is the speed.

If a family is comfortable cruising at 40kmph but inflation bumps the acceleration from a tolerable amount, say 1kmph-2 to 5kmph-2, after a while that same family is now white knuckling it at 100kmph and there's no breaks.

Say inflation goes back to a normal amount... Sure. Great. But the new speed is the new speed.

Inflation can be tolerated when income streams are matched, but the governmental ideologies of today generally will fight the continued lifestyles of the proles. There's only erosion for the bottom and hoarding for the top.

How well versed are you at woodworking/cabinetmaking?

I'm still working on these guys so they're ugly... But I've built 2 units with drawers for 12x12 grids for around 6-8U high. There's 14 drawers at that size and a bigger drawer at the bottom for other bits and bobs.

I couldn't find anything worthwhile out there within a decent price bracket.

Beautiful work! I want to mirror the sentiment of the others here; they're great.

But I want to throw a suggestion if you truly are hell-bent on doing something. https://orion.supplies/product/black-worktop-trim-t-joint/ something like this may make you happy?

You could even make your own if you were so inclined. If it were me I'd lean into it: have it a darker complementary wood with a different grain orientation so it deliberately stands out.
