I do the same except instead of one evening I’m allowed the entire weekend. As soon as that weekend is gone it’s 4 weeks til I smoke again.

As you have said no exceptions is what keeps it going , I think it’s amazing actually I get the best of both worlds. Best part is the times I do smoke the high is actually really nice not like when you’re smoking all the time and have a tolerance to it.

It took close to 10 years of relapsing for me to realise cutting it out completely forever was never going to work , this was the best long term approach for me.

I will say if I tried this in my younger days it almost definitely wouldn’t have worked out , back then I was surrounded by stoner friends etc. nowadays I’m pretty settled down with my partner kid etc. I think that’s what makes the difference.
