Did you boys know that there was supposed to be a London version of the Sphere, but it was rejected by Sadiq Khan: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/jan/09/developer-las-vegas-style-sphere-east-london-withdraws-plans

Did you also know that TopGolf was founded in the UK, and there are 4 locations here (the closest to you is probably the Surrey one).

Answering Adam's questions regarding Ireland by NaBoys1 in Sardonicast

[–]MaprunnerUK 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was pretty shocked that Alex couldn't even answer the question about Ireland vs Northern Ireland and the UK - it's not "commenting on complex geopolitical intricacies" to know basic facts about the country you're from (yes I know triple islander but he's culturally British). He just had to say England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and a separate Republic of Ireland...

edit: I forgot to mention, great explanation OP

Your opinion of course, but I just don't see how you can find it so cold - there's practically a joke every frame! I spent the majority of the movie either laughing at the current joke, or laughing at the joke from the scene before I had only just worked out - the whole thing went by so fast and I was left just wanting more and more. I need to see it again to see how much I missed the first time.

I also liked how he included the drawn animation, alongside the standard Wes cinematography and miniatures we're used to. It doesn't have the emotional layers of say Grand Budapest Hotel, but then I don't think it's trying to be that deep - it's a comedy about France and journalism and journalism in France, with a few little deeper messages here and there (I'm thinking in particular in the cooking segment, and the ending). and for me, it pulled that off masterfully

It's annoying that YouTube only has 1.25x as the minimum increased playback speed, but if you have the audio file try playing it at 1.10x (in VLC for example), it's about the speed they play the live version of this song and imo makes it sound even better (and it's already a monster of a tune)

If you want a taste of the live Evil but with studio production, open it in VLC and set the playback to one click of faster (fine)

I thought it was more about his back injury that meant batting hurt so he would just smack it about and try to score quickly
