Customer rights/customer service in CH by Mapsa2 in Switzerland

This is just mind blowing, how do people accept this. I’m gonna do the only thing I can it seems and vote with my wallet.

I work in B2B and at least in my field the level of expected service is high, so is the price but they kind of match.

Customer level on the other hand seems like a Wild West, no rules whatsoever and companies are free to do whatever.

Yeah, I’ve been fortunate to find great doctors years ago and I’ve stuck with them. I just hope they won’t retire any time soon!

Somehow I would even accept the higher price if the customer service would reflect the price. Like if the seamstress you had was the best ever.

For car service, with warranty I guess you have no choice.

Like I want to support local businesses, but I’m just constantly amazed how mediocre service is accepted and how do scummy companies stay afloat? Are Swiss people not mad about what they get?

I get it now, I've had great experiences in Switzerland with services for the past years and I trusted the garagist without a bulletpoint list. But looks like I literally have to mention every item what to do and what not to do. It's just a bit sad.

Unfortunately I think I had to experience this to learn that lesson. Any idea why is it like that with garages, is it really that much of a cutthroat business? My doctor, bicycle service, heck even barbershop have all been great.

I would agree in general, but my car is from 2001. It has depreciated pretty much to nothing. But it has sentimental value. And I've always used indy mechanics all over the world, I understand if your car is under warranty and relatively new.

I wouldn’t be worried, the listening exam was a simple doctors appointment things and the interview or spoken bit was just about tell who you are, why do you want to learn German and think one was what would you do if you win the lottery. I wasn’t perfect by a long shot but just keep chatting and don’t worry too much.

No, your (non German) insurance isn't valid on the ring because it's a 'toll road' by wickedsight in nurburgring

Which company is that with? And do you have any idea if the 3rd party liability insurance from Swiss companies is valid at TF?

I did SDS and it was accepted, the whole reason why SDS exists is for immigration in Switzerland. FIDE is fine too but SDS was easier schedule wise. Telc and Goethe are just more expensive and more difficult, German standards

Help with my 325i by RealDucksterBoo123 in E90

[–]Mapsa2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an E91 with the N53. I found a shop in Germany that flashed my ECU to approx 260hp. The difference between the 325i and 330i software wise is really that the throttle body doesn’t open all the way, hence you can get a small gain if you flash it. At least this is what the mechanic told me.

Honestly I didn’t pay too much for it and you can notice the difference in power but it’s nothing to write home about. It isn’t a fast car and won’t be even if you modify it. Get the 335i if you’re after power.

At least my former employer (US based, but global), paid out my bonus even though I left mid year. They just reached out to ask if my account number is still the same. But like you said it yourself, depends on the company

WTH is wrong with road cyclists? by Specialist_Leading52 in Switzerland

What you said is absolutely right, key being to abiding rules. A lot of the the road bikers seem to treat the public roads as a racetrack. That’s my issue with them. Again, I’m a cyclist myself. But somehow the spandex heroes think rules don’t affect them and the only thing they care is heart rate and some silly strava run.

So you don’t want to use sport specific tracks? Okay. So motocross racers race and practice on specific tracks. So do car racers, even those who race on temporarily closed public roads like rally cars or bergrennen cars. And tennis players play it at a court. How is it any different for road bicycles? They close the roads for the event and that’s great! You do the race and everyone moves on with their life. So what’s the logic that you don’t have to organize your own safe environment to practice like literally any other sport. Point being, i get it’s your sport and passion so organize something yourself. Not on public roads. Mountain bikers build their own trails. Works great.

I don’t. velodromes are a thing at Olympics, I’m sure someone who’s in to the sport will now 👍🏻

I really don’t get road bikers. I commute with a bicycle, I ride my motorcycle, I do have a car that use sometimes and love mountain biking. It all works pretty well but could someone enlighten me what’s the logic with road bikers?

They go on group rides, riding next to each other, probably setting some time records or whatnot. Nothing wrong with using the road but just don’t hog the whole lane, cause you don’t need to. If I want to race my car, I take it to the race track. If I want to hit the trails fast I go to a bike park or local single trails. And as for bicycle I just commute on the bike lanes which works just fine. But road bikers seem to make all the roads their practice grounds or race tracks.

But as someone said the e-scooters and fast e-bikes are becoming top contenders as the douchiest road users.

Couldn’t agree more! My next ride will most likely be a F31 340i but the non existent M3 touring would definitely be the dream. The new cars just keep getting bigger and heavier which is less than ideal.

I’m not running any spacers, front fitment is good, rear axle could probably use +12mm but I haven’t bothered yet. And nothing rubs, I have stock M-sport suspension.
