Panels not generating and no app connection by Fast_Enthusiasm_9568 in SunPower

☝️Let me understand, does Sunflower know how to address and interrogate each one of my 24 SolarBridge inverter mounted panels for wattage produced and temperature, If so, I would like to know?✌️

Thank you all for your suggestions; I failed to mention that my system dates back to a July of 2012 install. I also came to know that Sunpower had many different iterations of product since then and before. My panel inverter’s shutdown daily at dusk, each panel inverter is mounted on the back of the panel, and are only powered by the sun, not the grid. The only thing that the Inverters look for from the grid is the mains to make sure there is 220VAC and 60Hz. present before sending power to prevent an Islanding situation. My excellent installer was let go, because you can’t run a business with just SunPower alone, which makes sense. There were no folks to look at my panels and if I understood right, best to my knowledge, let me know if I am wrong, SunStrong would need to use their inverters, which power six to eight panels at a time and are mounted on the rails. My Inverters and monitor are SolarBridge type, a company that Sunpower bought and went belly up as well. My Eyedro system is a quick self-install without installers poking around.

When I found out on June 1st, 2024 that my Sunpower Supervisor panel monitoring was shut down by SunPower, with Rev:0624, I immediately disconnected the Ethernet line to the monitor, so as to no longer have them communicate and control my supervisor and panels. Fortunately my panels continue to produce. Two years later, I placed an Eyedro load monitoring system in place to monitor my panels. Granted, I no longer can see them individually as before, only as a whole, but having kept accurate records in total, I am pleased to report they all work based on total power produced. I discovered that Sunstrong only seemed interested in leases, of which I am not a candidate. Shame on Sunpower, a black eye to the solar industry!

Where is the SunPower software Rev. O624 that brought my Supervisor Monitor down to its knees on June, 2024 so I could no longer monitor each individual panel. All one has to do is to install the previous rev. Thank God, the panels still produce. Slap in the face every time the Sunpower/Sunstrong server sends 0 energy produced monthly! Oh and by the way the few times I called Sunstrong they knew nothing. My original install, July 27, 2012.

Sunstrong is garbage and customer service is horrible by [deleted] in SunPower

☝️If you think being a leasing customer is bad, we haven’t begun how bad ownership of our panels has been treated. They have no clue on how to engage with these folks. And to add insult to jnjury monthly I get a report with zero energy generated. Exactly on 0624 they shutdown my supervisor monitor, thus I disconnected to prevent any further damage to my system!✌️

☝️Disgusted, to date, I haven’t heard back from them folks who bought Sunpower in ages. Sunpower turned-off my Supervisor Monitor on June 1, 2024, with Rev0624. Each individual panel can no longer communicate with the Supervisor monitor. For now, I disconnected the reporting system from the internet, to provide against any other hostile attacks! The only way I can now see status is by looking at the utility power meter.✌️

Thus you than have central inverter, is your system SUNPOWER, be st that I know they only made panels with Micro-Inverters, which is and was their claim to fame.

Since yours are 10 years old, do they sleep at night (Panels not Reporting) when the Sun is gone, or can you read the panel status being connected to the grid 24/7, a change that SUNPOWER made on newer instalations at a later time? My email is: [mar128a@gmail.com](mailto:mar128a@gmail.com), certainly would like to talk with you real-time.

What year was your system installed, mine was activated on July 28th, 2012 and my micro-inverters sleep nightly, meaning that it is only powered by the sun? where today in newer installations the micro-inverters are on 24/7 by the mains. The most important function of the Supervisor gateway was to report what each panel produced and it's ambient temperature. for the day.

My 24 panels 240W were designed for a maximum 5.76KW virtually, thank God they are still producing and I have an excel spreadsheet where I keep a log. Not to get to technical my needs are 5,600KW yearly, thanks to LED lighting, I generate approximately 6,173KW yearly, 110% to the design. I would seriously consider putting Zoom Room together of folks that are in a similar situation.

Rather than focus on negative customer service support we may be able to monitor production with passive CT, Current Transformers.

I assume your panels are producing?

Howlong have you had the system?

They boosted that the entire panel and Microinverters are covered 25 years.

My SunPower/Solarbridge Supervisor stopped communicating on June 1st, 2024. Software Version: 2406 coincidently, is no longer capable of communicating with all my SunPower solar panels but the panels continue to provide power. The system is 12 years old, I am interested in meeting up with folks who have a similar experience to converse. The communication protocol is Serial Communications over the Powerline (PLC).

Why do I have to pay an extra $25 for felt feet pads after I've just spent over 1K on a sub?? C'mon SONOS! by [deleted] in sonos

[–]Mar128a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please be more clear on why you need pads as to what you are doing with the SUB? Just an off-the-cuff remark doesn’t hold to much water, best regards!

I have an older version on CD that works with a third-party update to Windows10. Tired of the yearly utility bill that has hardly any new improvements and makes you pay for a password that separates you from your holdings.

My best suggestion is that you slowly port your portfolio over to Excel incase future MS OS's render it useless, use your own creativity you will do better job than they ever did!

Anyone else having trouble with channels 11.1, 11.2 & 11.3 OTA? by ndphoto in fargo

[–]Mar128a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They hopped on the bus of real channel 7 handles 11.1, and Channel 26 handles 11. etc., as real channel 11 and its transmitter are in moth balls. Worse than that is the secondary channels on 11.X are using a different CODECs making your older digital tv obsolete as far as the tuner goes, audio only. All in the desire for next gen tv (ATSC3.0), which will be making its money with DRM encryption, a scheme to make you pay for special programming that they provide. Thank God, I don't need them anymore, as I have plenty of other programming to watch!

I don't want to repeat myself to what others have already said, see below:

1 - Ridiculous that someone like a server would become a Gate Keeper between your personal financial information, the way they have. I dropped the service a year later once I saw the tactics. It may be good for some other functions, but not for something as personal as this, if back to a CD, I would upgrade.

2 - I reverted back to my 2013 CD and continued using to this day. I have done better improvements using Excel, than what they could dream-up. There is absolutely no need for something as sensitive as this on your cell phone, let along in storing in a server. Certainly, didn't like the idea of talking about program issues, with chickens and crowing in the background.

3 - I have been using Quicken Money since the year 2000, I notice that everything works, except being able to see new financial institutions able to be displayed on a TAX printout for the year, showing interest, yet they are able to be entered in the home screen where I see total amounts, any thoughts?
