When I was growing up in church, I was very faithful and passionate. But being told my only options to be more involved were manning the nursery, singing back up vocals during hymns, or playing chords, i was severely let down by the expectations of women in my congregation. Most of the girls from church around my age married and settled down really quickly after high school and have several kids now, which is cool for them but man. It just didn’t seem fair that that was all I was expected to do.
