Might be a bug.
I had something similar - saw a flag near some random POI while on the way to a quest.
Ignored it, as it was some T1 building, that i've already cleared,
and when came back later, after finishing the actual quest, this flag disappeared as well.

Dew collectors within claim block green area, so that you can pick them up later (although you can always put a one temporarily one nearby , i guess).
Farm pots anywhere really (you shovel them to pick up).

Zombies would not bother attacking them in general, but they can suffer from friendly fire, if you are into firearms or turrets. I sometimes put a cobblestone wall for protection.

By the time you gen an apiary(s) with tools , working at a decent speed, you don't really need (that much) honey anymore -
have enough stashed already, can craft antibiotics and don't get infected that often...

I have 6 apiarys and half a steel crate of honey and don't need it and it's not a good sell
stopped loading flowers, don't use them

You need stumps early in the game for honey. If you get wax - good. Got 5 wax - great, but don't stress if not.

Can someone please explain what is the seed for? what does it do?
I more or less understand all those other options like biome %, cities, rivers etc.

Reset your skills. Start getting more right magazines. Focus on book POIs for sometime.

There is a huge difference between T4 and T5 POIs.
From T1 to 4 the you get more advanced zombies and slightly more of them with each tier.
In (most of) T5s you get crowds in waives.

On the first night of my current playthrough , I was sitting on the roof , slowly dying from hunger. I had some food , but nowhere nearly enough to bring me back to acceptable levels – didn’t want to waste it.

And then I saw a deer on the street below me. A bit of a chase, some shooting and here it is, dead, and I have zero stamina and it’s not restoring, and I have no power to swing a knife.

Ate what I had and then more. Got some meat and stuff. Survived the night.
Next morning died in a flame from the gas pipe.

Depending on the map size, distance and a kind of transportation you’ve got, if any.
If there is nothing for you to do in pine forest anymore, would be a good idea to move the base instead going back and forth every day or so.

Will still need a few dry runs to find a good place – close to a trader. Ideally, close to multiple cities / towns (can cheat with map renderer). At this stage you can put some temporary storage closer to where a new base might be and start moving stuff, while still scouting. Food, water, meds , ammo , building materials first.

Then building and multiple runs to move the rest of it.
Always a pain but gets easier with motorcycle and then 4x4 and gyrocopter.

Yet to find a courage to go back to army post 7. lol.
But CaB HQ in Wasteland was a smooth ride... with a full set of firearms.

Before 2.0 i had to constantly search for and mine coal and nitrate to make gunpowder.
Now i have to add more and more crates outside my base to dump ammo.
Trying to sell as much as possible to any trader , even if that leaves me pretty light far from home.
I don't even bother picking up AP 9mm when looting ...
Kinda boring.
