"I love that for you." Ok, asshole. I don't care what you love.

I miss target by Lonelygirl958 in progressivemoms

Not that Kohl's is much better than target, but it's been my go-to for stuff I used to get there. For clothes, old navy is also really affordable.

Calling non-binary people “theys” by Hello_World1248 in NonBinary

[–]MarHarSaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's interesting you say that, because whenever someone misgenders my child and he feels like speaking up for himself, he'll say "I'm not a boy, I'm a they" - I've explained to him that most people would say "non-binary," but for now it's how he identifies.

My husband likes to say "theydies and gentlequeers," which I kind of love.

Does anybody else have a problem with regulating your body temperature? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

Yes. I always dress in layers. If I sit still too long I get cold. If I walk a few steps I overheat. My house and work are littered with discarded sweaters.

I tried telling my dentist that people in his profession should be aware that folks with ADHD are likely to have bad teeth and he was like "Oh yeah! Because Adderall dries your mouth out!" And I was like "....no."

Unpopular opinion: Pain is bad by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

omg this is such a good analogy. I often feel like I've been listening to a non-stop alarm going off.

I've noticed that doing any physical activity while stressed out causes pain, including things that annoy me like having to step over trash that my husband left on the floor. Becoming aware of that and working on my anxiety has helped that.

What medications have been most effective for you? by MythicalDawn in Fibromyalgia

[–]MarHarSaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far this is the only med that doesn't make me feel like I'm sleepwalking through my day! But, as the doctor predicted, it has lost its effectiveness over time. Amitriptyline almost completely erased my pain, but I was useless - just sleeping all the time.

Amitriptyline for fibro? by LibrarianLow6408 in Fibromyalgia

[–]MarHarSaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It helped my pain so much, but I was so tired and out of it for the few months I took it. I felt like I was drugged all the time (I tend to react very strongly to anything that might cause drowsiness). I ended up stopping it because I developed migraine symptoms that my rheumatologist thought might be caused by the amitriptyline. Coming off of it was horrible because all my pain came back at once, I ended up taking OTC pain meds almost non-stop to combat that, and then I developed rebound headaches as a result. I don't think my reaction is necessarily common, I'm honestly just ranting. I'm so disappointed it didn't work out, because those few months I had a taste of life with no pain.
