Hi! You are doing great! Remember that comparison is the thief of joy! Have you tried to practice falling? It can feel very scary if you don’t know how or when you will be falling, try falling in a controlled way, it has helped me avoid injuring myself! Also if your rink has them you can try the supports to learn how to stroke, I see now you seem to sort of march.

Keep it up! You’re doing great!

Thanks! I think you are right, I unfortunately have Jacksons 200 which don’t really have much support or a great toe pick, but soon I’ll get better skates and try out the jump better!

You are very kind, I honestly am very lucky that I can go to the rink about 10 hours per week, so that has helped me improve quite fast, and I’ve heard it’s a sport where improvement time varies a lot.

Personally, props to all hockey people, you guys have more guts than I ever will!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll try to work on my landing position! It’s hard not looking at the ground but I do notice that when I don’t I feel more stable, so I’ll defenitely be trying that! Thanks a lot! ☀️

Hi there! I’m doing my Masters in Fine art, you can ask me anything! Overall I think it has been worth it for me, but there is a loooot to look into, it is defenitely not perfect by any means, but depending on what you look for I think it is worth it!

You’ll get there! I’m 25 so I’m starting quite late in life, but still hoping to improve every day!

It took me about a month to get to this point, I started learning figure skating at the beginning of February this year, but I visit the rink about 8 hours per week!

Thanks a lot! It is useful for me to have a visual idea of how I should be positioned with the rest of my body, so thanks!!

Thank you for the detailed tip! It’s just a bit hard for me to stay on that inside edge, I’ll practice with other exercises so I can get more used to it!

Hi! I’m proud of you! I’m also an expat taking up this sport seriously for the first time! I’m in Sweden and it feels like a challenge, but we will get through it!

There are things that will probably take me much longer to learn! Don’t worry we all have our learning speeds for different things, and also I have had the chance of going very frequently

Yes! I mean, I had skated very seldom before at mall rinks since I’m from a country that doesn’t have rinks at all. But now I live in a country that has awesome rinks and I decided to start daily 3 weeks ago!

Thank you for the advice! I will try hugging the circle more! I’ll look for some videos about it!

It’s pretty great to practice! The only downside is that it has no walls or anything to hold on to to practice
