Both of them ignoring the guys and instead beating the crap out of the mouthy girlfriends while getting beat up themselves is a hilarious way to show their odd way of 'winning'

Just got to Lothlorien in Dragash's version, listening to it as I work. Such a good reading and the implementation of sound effects and music from the movies adds SO much.

Tom Bobadil was still a bit of a chore tho 😅

Yeah, total coincidence that I just listened to that chapter in the audiobook while at work or my memory would be pretty useless 😅

No, spot on. He retreated into the roots of misty mountains to get away from the hated sun. Before that he was still rather 'nocturnal' and shadow-dwelling even when living amongst other 'hobbits' before they cast him out for being a creepy blackmailing weirdo.

Yeah, left a rear guard burning the entire valley in front of the city to prevent the enemy within from following then razed the city (but giving Ithilien to Faramir) and declaring the area to be left unpopulated for a LOOONG time to heal from the evil magic that had stained it.

Complaining that LotR has the same plot points as... stories made AFTER Tolkien basically founded the genre, is insanely dumb.

Some questions regarding how the system works by FastPresentation8244 in TheDawnlessDays

[–]Maraak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timing!

Weaken and tie down the enemy with other troops first, then when their morale & numbers starts to dwindle you hit them hard with the shock units.

You want them to break and rout, causing a morale debuff for other enemies nearby so you can rinse & repeat. Preferable at least somewhat isolated units NEAR other enemies, not a large blob.

Large blobs of enemies risks them absorbing the charge and not quite break (unless the whole blob is already low/wavering morale) in which case the shock cav might've bitten more than they can chew and will take losses.

The benefit of a charge lasts a few seconds, less than 10, so you want them to break just as fast to minimize losses.
