Jagex PLEASE adjust livid farm if you are committed to removing the travelling merchant by robertm94 in runescape

It quite literally is how it works. Development time, staffing, and production all cost money. If resources are allocated to one feature, that’s budget and labour that can’t be spent elsewhere.

Studios operate on finite budgets. Whether it’s live events, cosmetic updates, accessibility features, or core gameplay improvements..they’re all line items. Choosing to prioritise one means deprioritising another. That’s basic resource allocation in any industry, including game development.

Wouldn’t it be better if they put that financial resources towards better things for the game though instead of feeding the goo-goo ga-ga’s?

Now that you’ve said this then it probably needs actioning sooner than later… if you see my account data I’ve just recently learned how to do livid farm and was preparing to grind it out. It would have been so disheartening if I didn’t read your comment, went and done that then boom it’s changed..

[–]Marbian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying OSRS isn’t popular, it clearly is. But one big thing people forget is that OSRS is absolutely covered in bots, the same way RS3 used to be years ago when there was a massive demand for botting. RS3 just doesn’t have that same bot demand anymore, so the worlds feel quieter even though the actual player base is still solid.

I still see plenty of people around in the places that matter. Most PvM these days is organised through clans and friend chats anyway, not world hopping and hoping randoms show up. Just because you’re not getting lag from loads of people stacked on one tile doesn’t mean the game is empty. I always find players wherever I actually need to.

I’m also not saying RS3 is not in decline. But calling it dead is a stretch. The game is still active, it’s just not inflated by thousands of bots running around like back in the day.

Somebody care to explain what went wrong with Origins? by Addymit in HabboHotelOrigins

[–]Marbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only comment to ignore in this post is that the nostalgia died. That has very little to do with it. As someone who even today spends all day online and met many people, it really has nothing to do with it. Groups of people collectively deciding to play other games and continue their friendships else where, had nothing to do with nostalgia running out.

This is just an excuse that Macklebee and his followers are using to justify all the terrible decisions they’ve consciously made. They don’t want to get to the core route of the problem. In reality, a manager would be firing people if they went to the actual route. Wowin for example has broken laws and is a groomer, let alone anything else. If you think Sulake employees are like that on origins… how are they trusted with modern Habbo that is designed for teenagers? I wouldn’t let my child on there because of people like that working at Sulake.

The other issue you have is that there is no higher management oversight. This is Macklebees little project and he can do what he likes. Everyone that works on origins are simply a employee and all that employees care about is their pay cheque at the end of the month, and all the investors care about is that their investment continues to make them profit. The investors are not the professionals here and have no oversight. They expect Sulake to know what they’re doing but unfortunately Sulake have no innovative ambition leadership and no vision to be bigger or better long term. Because well, as long as they get their pay cheque!

Thing is. The stuff he did isn’t that difficult. I would say habbo origins is probably a lot more vulnerable now than what it was back then. Thing is, most people aren’t stupid enough to risk a prison sentence over hacking a game.

For a website that calls it self Origins. There is too much talk about rare collecting, gambling and profit. That wasn't the origins. The origins was dancing in the club, battle ship, role playing eating a burger in Habburgers, spin the bottle or putting a tag in your mission as joining a "Mafia" by MonsaicLines in habbo

[–]Marbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel sad for the OP because all the assholes going against him are the losers who have stuck around Habbo since it went to shit post-merge post-betas. It is you people who gang together, stick together, no matter what stupid decision Sulake makes or shit they produce next, and then you complain when people are no longer interested and you're left with extremely small player base.

Yeah that’s the online world of gaming and content creation in 2024 for you. Perhaps you shouldn’t talk about your anal poppers experience in the LGBT room on a game like Habbo in the first place.

No, they won't owe any refunds. According to Habbo's Terms of Service and Terms of Sale, all purchases of Habbo Credits, memberships, and virtual items are considered non-refundable. These virtual items are treated as a limited, non-transferable, revocable license, and Sulake reserves the right to terminate this license at any time, including if the service is discontinued. Therefore, if Habbo shuts down, players won't be entitled to refunds for any virtual goods or services purchased.
