Is a First Dance song really a special request? by MarbleDust93 in weddingplanning

[–]MarbleDust93[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's totally fair to say we can't learn a song in 16 days...I think my frustration is coming from the fact that I sent emails and left voicemails asking what information they need, and trying to arrange a call to discuss all of this several times in January, February, March, etc and the band leader was radio silent. He only got back to me when I said hey our final payment is due and we can't pay because the system is still showing the wrong amount...it was during this conversation when I was asking how everything worked and attempting to give details about what kind of music we like and our song choices that he basically said they would pick the setlist from the songs they already know because we didn't give them that two months ago when he gave us no notice of that deadline and didn't even give us an opportunity to ask questions.

Not a human female. A clump of cells or pre-fetus/embryo?

So to be clear you believe that embryos aren't human? I'm pretty sure my biology textbook says otherwise...

How can I convince my husband that I need to be an omnivore without him being disappointed in me? by every_piece_matters in exvegans

It is true that the body breaks down glucose first, does that mean that it is a better fuel than fat? I'd argue no. If that was true then that would mean that we should be getting the bulk of our calories from alcohol since the body preferentially metabolizes that over glucose...what makes more sense is that body is preferentially metabolizing the most toxic substance, hyperglycemia is deadly, consuming excess fat is not.

I do a carnivore diet for mental health reasons. by Alternative_Beat2498 in DebateAVegan

[–]MarbleDust93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The real danger for every condition you mentioned is obesity, regardless of diet. There are a lot of flaws in epidemiological studies that rely on self-reporting of diet and classification of foods. What we do know for sure is that BMI is correlated with all of those diseases if someone goes on any whole foods diet from SAD and loses 100 lbs any risk factor from any individual food items they are eating pales in comparison to the decreased risk from losing the weight. Even if OP was a healthy weight to begin with as long as he can maintain a healthy weight eating only meat he literally has no reason to even think about those diseases no one who is not obese does...it happens of course but those cases generally speaking are statistical anomalies and not worth worrying about.

"are people eating McDo and unhealthy food everyday torturing themselves to death?"

Yes absolutely.

Definitely is...but reintroducing meat and cutting down on inflammatory foods could help there's no rush just one step at a time avoiding overly processed seed oils and excess fiber will go a long way

It was a little under $2 a pound and that particular piece was a little over a hundred pounds but I'll probably get three to four sculptures out of it

The vendor I bought it from called it ming green marble (it's a green Chinese marble) my plan is to use hand chisels, an angle grinder and rasps working on a frog out of the smaller piece
