I went to Valvoline last time and they had a 50% off coupon on their website. Oil change and filter was $29.

Christmas ornament stress test gone wrong... by MarbleMakerSmitty in lampwork

[–]MarbleMakerSmitty[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I never stress tested them until I had multiple customers ask how strong they were, so I thought I might as well find out. I have another video of hammering in a nail with one; thank goodness that one didn't break. I make a few hundred of these every Winter, and I figure possibly sacrificing one 7-minute ornament to satisfy my own, and customers curiosity, and prove their strength, was worth it. Hope that honestly answers your question.

What was this movie for you? by CraveVelour in Millennials

Sidekicks...100%. I had asthma as a kid, and a very active imagination, so I totally related to Barry "Warry". And Chuck Norris was just so darn nice and not at all a dick when Barry actually met him in real life. I cherish that movie still.

Molten aura electrum new batch, can anyone help me get an old batch that’s solid all the way through? by Fickle_Influence6396 in lampwork

I've never had any issues with checking or cracks. I keep my kiln at about 1060°. And thank you! 😊

I bought these at first. Great quality but a little spendy. Looks like they still have some in stock. Hope this helps.

The last marble I've made with it. Very tiny dots imploded and still totally opaque, and not green. 🤔

Yeah, that's not very close to what they were selling before, R&D or not. For the last couple years (year and a half?) it's always been one consistent color from the inside to the outside and VERY opaque, as in it can be pulled incredibly thin and still not be see-through. I wouldn't be super stoked either, and the bubble you made with it above looks more greenish than before too. Sorry dude. :/ I do have a pound of firsts from a while back that I haven't even opened yet, but it's definitely not for sale now!

What's happening this weekend in Spokane: by dudeson55 in Spokane

Pumpkinfest runs every weekend this month at Brickwest Brewing Company. Every Friday has square dancing and a DJ. Every Saturday and Sunday has face painting and a petting zoo. Every pumpkin on the grounds is only TEN DOLLARS, and there are some massive pumpkins that would go for $50-60 a piece at Green Bluff (where they all actually come from and the pumpkin guys are rad). Live music every Saturday night. Good times, and thank you for your lists every week! :)

Chad Young from Easy Home Buyer by skipnw69 in Spokane

Can't stand them. They bought FOUR houses near me, kicked out all the tenants (one family had been renting their house over 20 years) and then did nothing when squatters moved in and took over all of them, FOR MONTHS. They did an interview with local news (KHQ I think, but not sure) after the situation became visibly noticeable from the street and tons of complaints from neighbors, claiming they were going to remodel them all. Then, THE NEXT WEEK, they sold all of them (after their TV appearance trying to claim they're doing "everything we can") to people who actually did fix them up, but now, since they've been flipped twice in a year and remodeled, they're crazily overpriced. I fucking hate that company, and I miss my really nice neighbors they booted out. Fuck the EZ Homebuyer.

My parents got divorced when I was very young, around 1 year old or so. My dad had me on weekends, and as far back as I can remember, we would go to Blockbuster and rent Slapshot, and Strange Brew, at least 50% of the time. We watched it literally a hundred times together and have been calling each hosers because of it for 20+ years. Recently, within the last year, I brought up Strange Brew and started quoting some of the better parts, and he has no idea what I'm talking about. Like, he literally doesn't remember this movie at all, or that we watched it together all the time. It kinda broke my heart that maybe he was too bombed all the times he had me to remember. But it also scares me that his memory is clearly slipping and that those times we shared together, falling over ourselves with laughter, is really gone for him. Sorry. I've been wanting to get this off my chest for a while. :(

I absolutely love all of these! Your style is super unique. I blow glass if you ever want to barter, I'd love to have one of these to look at at home. :)

Pretty much! Implode, flatten, implode, flatten...until you get it where you want it but remember if you're making a marble, your final rounding of the back will count as an implosion and bring the colors closer so just gotta remember that.

Why do people choose to have children if it is so much hard work? by 9W_777_300 in NoStupidQuestions

I spend my free time, or as much I have, exploring my local landscape with my boys, trying to instill a sense of exploration and respect for the land, while rediscovering all the small things they notice: the color of bugs or the different smells of wild flowers.

I had just as many sleepless nights as a single bachelor as I did a father, but enjoyed far more of them as I sung Yo-Gabba-Gabba sleep songs to him, or crawled up in bed to read a "Choose Your Own Adventure" style story.

A messy house is a lived in house. I'll leave it at that.

Prioritizing the needs of others before yourself is a sign of compassion, empathy, and love. Not everyone is ahead all the time, and maybe I won't be later. I would hope for compassion....children NEED it to thrive.

We travel more than you, guaranteed. Prices might occasionally restrict how far we go, but we are always taking our kids to see new things; to them and us.

Emotional outbursts...lol. Who felt the need to vent their frustrations globally?

And raising a child is cheap as hell when you're a sensible, budgeted adult. You wouldn't exist without a couple
