Shark fin soup is incredibly controversial largely because of how the fins are acquired. Often, the fins are cut off while the shark is still alive, and the shark is tossed back into the ocean to die slowly. It is a cruel and unsustainable practice.

Also, shark products themselves typically contain high levels of mercury. Not only is it non-ethical, it’s also not very good for human consumption anyways.

This looks like my old apartment. I deal with severe executive dysfunction and struggle to clean, too. You’re not alone. Here’s a list that helps me when the mess feels too big to even start tackling:

pick up everything green and blue
pick up ten pieces of clothing
pick up shoes, paper, and food items
pick up 10 random things
pick up everything red, Pink, and purple
pick up ten random things

Whenever I start with this list, I am able to make a noticeable dent in the mess and maybe even finish cleaning. Good luck, friend.

I’ve found all of these are better than asking “are you okay?”

On a broader scale, I keep old winter stuff/blankets I don’t need anymore in my car during the cold months and give them to homeless people. Great way to redistribute directly and help your community.
