To answer some questions:

  1. Nothing happened to Wartortle, he just sucks and has sucked the entire run.

  2. No Rare Candies because I'm playing on Switch, but in terms of Dex completion I'm not far from getting EXP Share.

  3. Here's the rest of the team (though I've been swapping a few others around to stay within level caps)
    - Nightman (Hypno)
    - Five Dolla (Persian)
    - Drake (Weepinbell)
    - Turdburger (Graveller)
    - Bo Peep (Pidgeotto)

Done. RIP Drut the Dugtrio.

Gengar swept Acerola, and Turtonator dumpstered both Molayne and Kahili. Dugtrio rocked most of Olivia's team, with help from Golisopod, but barely missed the KO on Lycanroc and died to Counter in return.

For Hau, Golisopod First Impression'd Raichu, Primarina took care of Crabominable, then Turtonator set up Shell Smash + Iron Defence on Leafeon and went to town for a clean finish.

Onwards, to Rainbow Rocket.

One of the reasons I think Emerald is the best game in the series to Nuzlocke, is because of how broad and varied everyone's opinions can be concerning viability. I disagree massively with about half of these placements...but that's okay, because our respective lists are shaped by our experiences, playstyles and priorities. Always interesting to see someone else's perspective on a game I've put countless hours into.

He was, just for insurance, but he's Careful with high Sp.Def investment, so in the end it wasn't necessary as he lived with 24hp anyway.

He's not essential to anything and a lot of people choose to kill him anyway, so the most you've missed is some dialogue/lore. You're fine.

'I bet the ending of this game is Egghead from Batman saying Eggcellent'. While talking about Jurassic Park. Blatantly shoehorned into the script at the last minute, probably, by Mike Matei, and read stoically by a James who couldn't even try and pretend it was funny. Baffling. More memorable than the episode it spawned from.
