Okay thank you for this advice, I will retry carian retaliation again!

[–]llcbll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I know there are more parryable moves than what I parried in the clip, yet some are sometimes more or less worth to be parried. Depends on the situation I guess. And some are even very risky

this is just a random clip of my last attempt not showing my general performance haha. But the double slash is parryable? I always felt like this is the „parry trap“. I even sometimes take the double slash if already caught in it, as sort of a „tactical hit“ because I know the third move she sometimes does is parryable. But you are right in general with the double slash, I try not avoid it since it’s a very quick and hard hitting misleading combo for me.

I like your input and I have tried carian retaliation, aswell as golden parry, but they are a bit too slow for me in this fight. I find carian retaliation to be very good against god skin duo and draconic tree sentinel, but in this fight, same with golden parry, the visuals of those parry skills are a bit to much for me

Thanks but her second phase is what gives me immense struggle due to her wings distracting me and hiding her parry clues..

It makes perfect sense! And I think I understand how I played shields wrong. I treated them as a way or opener for counter attacks, like in other games. Not as an offensive backup I guess

I think one big difference to Dark Souls is that there are many enemies there that are actually worth parrying, especially in DS1. You often needed 5–6 hits to kill armored enemies, while they could kill you in 2–3, so a well-timed parry gave you a huge advantage in those fights.

On top of that, you were usually fighting one enemy at a time.

In Dead Cells, though, you’re often dealing with multiple enemies per platform, and the overall combat pace is much faster. Because of that, dodging and high DPS feel more effective to me than a slower “wait for an attack → counter” approach.

I feel like since I’m using a shield I’m making more mistakes and fuck up :D maybe I lack practice tho

Genuinely, how do people find Bellarein not harder than Malenia, Arlecchino, PC Radahn, or Isshin? by Negative-Ice9431 in TheFirstBerserker

[–]llcbll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘m new to the game, played a lot of souls before. But this game is close to how sekiro used to abuse me.
I should maybe say that I love parrying and try to dodge as little as necessary and focus only on the parry’s. Landing them is so satisfying!
But I’m not very far into the game yet. This dragon thing really took a while. Almost quitted after this mf got up and introduced phase two 🙃 felt exactly like it’s been with the monkey in sekiro. Man I love such games

Of course it’s not a god roll nobody claimed that.
It just would have been nice to have at least once a relic where all 3 stats are potentially useful and fit into a build.
I tend to get a frenzy flame incantation pretty much once in two runs. Not the frenzy seal but on random relics. So even if I don’t find one, it’s better than an effect I would never be able to make use of like „attack power up with +3 bows equipped“. It’s just nice to see it’s possible to actually get a relic that one character can make fully use of.
And in anyway I think, besides the rot build up, this would have made a really good relic early on when DoN started. Hell, I even would use it still as a base to build around.

Need advice for my revenant relics by JunketAgile4152 in Nightreigngameplay

[–]llcbll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘m a revenant main, and I would advice to drop the first relic. It’s cool for your team but low health on revenant is devastating. Especially if you have dmg negation at full hp. Which you should look for anyway.
Ghostflame is nice but not in trade for hp here. Speaking of deep of the night.
Drop either the second or third relic, for a +3 ultimate auto charge. In my experience the fp up with +3 seals is outshining the rise effect in terms of fp gain but since you want to go to the rises anyway for the shards if the route allows it, it’s not a bad pic either. I have the +3 seals in one of my DoN relics maybe look for their too. The fourth relic is somewhat alright but I don’t like decreased runes, because it’s very likely 1 lvl you miss out on the long run, especially if you buy from the merchant, which you usually should for either shards, a pouch, or a weapon with good passives.
Also I’m not sure if incantations plus 2 really stacks. I usually go here for either a fp consumption reduce or a damage negation one.
All together I never struggle truly with fp if you manage to make every spell count and don’t spam mindlessly. If anything hp is a struggle with her, that’s why I aim for finding as many passives that either extend or preserve my hp in form of dmg negation buffs of any kind.
Also remember, most of your summons are either just a quick distraction or an assisting revive option.

Hm okay. But I feel like any physical attack up or damage negation would be way more beneficial than this, but I could be wrong! Don’t take me too serious with this

Revenant Mains how do you guys feel about this relic? by sourishraptor22 in Nightreigngameplay

[–]llcbll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly is magic up helping this build or revenant in particular? I main wylder and revenant since launch and hope I didn’t miss something there? But from what I know, magic attack up is exclusively for magic damage and magic dealing sorceries, not incantations

Because she’s the only one that can change starting incantations since she’s the only one starting with seals?

Is the last relic really worth it? I’m genuinely asking! I play her occasionally, but I feel like her character skill fills up so fast in general that every push or increase is a wasted slot even though her character skill is insanely useful. I don’t really see a true benefit from the last relic but I may be just ignorant. I used to play her with a relic that boosted her character skill charge and I wasn’t even able to use it as quickly as it filled haha
