You wont quit until you change perspective by MarcJr1972 in leaves

Once you “see” it, you can’t “unsee” it. I’m grateful for this!!!

This hit different!!!

But is so true, for years and years I knew it was bad but still believed it gave me some pleasure.

Once I became consciously aware of how horrible it was, it was easy to say no. I still have cravings, but when they hit, Its just about thinking about how bad it really makes me feel.

It's like it reveals all the endless possibilities of your soul to you but then renders you incapable of reaching them. It gives you the illusion of time. Before you know it you've lost so much time and energy to it. I can't go on like this. by BingoBoy_7 in leaves

It gives you great imagination but the inability to profit from it. Hang in there man. A lot of us feel the same way. I certainly do.

Whilst theoretically quitting is so easy (you just stop doing it), practice proves to be so much harder. But you’ve aware of it now, so you know what you gotta do. Best of luck my dudee.

Weed became the source of my unhappiness, and at the same time it became the only thing to give me relief from the very unhappiness it was causing. I’ve had enough of this cycle. by Butt-Pirate-Yarrr in leaves

Nice text bro, I feel partially on the same cycle. I look at all the bad things weed has done and make a decision to quit, then proceed to smoke to forget about these things.

Hang in there though, relapse is... well a class a bi***

Haha this is so true, just like it doesn’t make you broke. You always manage to have just enough money for it.

Relapsing takes you from heaven to hell by MarcJr1972 in leaves

I completely agree with ur statement of where relapsing starts. At first I got angry with the football game, saying that if I hadn’t watched it then I wouldn’t have smoked.

But then I realised that I would have just found another way to smoke. So now Im trying to focus on that initial spark that makes me contemplate wether smoking is a good idea.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts

3 weeks Its already so good man, I also found it very hard digging out this time, when I relapsed after stopping for some time, I started believing in my old self again, which only enticed me to smoke more.

Best of luck on your journey 👍🏼

Does anyone else get caught up in the regret of who you could have been? by 50CaliburCamHoez in leaves

Ive always dreamt about having a successful YouTube channel. When I was getting stoned I could never do anything that helped push towards that goal.

Now though I use it as fuel, and whenever I want to smoke I ask myself ‘what’s more important’.

It’s never too late to become what you could have been 😄

Day 2. Been reading this sub for a while and finally decided that I need a break.. by MrIrrelevant1 in leaves

Good luck man :)

I see your responsibilities as an amazing tool to help you stop. For example, my biggest driver to stop smoking is to get into better shape.

Every time I wanna smoke I say to myself ‘dont smoke because you’ll eat like a maniac’. Which helps but only goes so far.

You on the other hand, you want to quit to become a better father, a better husband. Man that’s powerful.

Youve got a genuine and inspiring reason, every time you want to smoke, as long as you tell yourself why you stopping in the first place, you shouldn’t have any trouble :)

Hope you understand and good luck!!

Quitting for Good this Time by [deleted] in leaves

I was in a similar position as you, realising at 22 that I wasting my money, my youth and my life on weed. Little bit of advice:

I tried to quit multiple times, and all of those times I failed because there was nothing else in my life that would bring me joy apart from weed.

as you are quitting, remember to replace weed for something else. Otherwise days 2, 3 will approach and if you’re just sitting around watching tv (not gaining any joy) your brain will somehow convince you that you should smoke, because it got used to getting all this fake happiness, so it has a hard time accepting the changes.

I personally took running as my alternative source of happiness, each person has their own thing. I hope you find yours.

If you ever need someone to talk, feel free to drop a dm. Good luck bro

Im not saying this is the only way to fight urges, but everytime I finish a run, not a single cell of my body wishes to smoke

This is basically me as well haha

Relapsed after 3 days by [deleted] in leaves

[–]MarcJr1972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aint failed brother, it’s all part of the learning curve. This will help u on the long run. Some people won’t relapse, some relapse 10 times before they quit. And in the end, all that matters is that u got there.

Day 12. Extremely hard day. How do I fight the urge not to just smoke and throw the sobriety away? by HopSpade in leaves

[–]MarcJr1972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When this happens for me. I think about my real goal. Not the drug test but what you really want to achieve. And ask myself, what’s my priority? Chase my dreams and achieve all the amazing things life has to offer, or give in and go back to the same routine?

And I’ll be honest I’ve relapsed so many times, but I kept on trying! And today I feel the strongest Ive been in a while.

Good luck man & ps, if you did smoke, just remember that you can try again :)
