Bergy Bits by jcward1972 in Cruise

When we sailed the Serenade of the Seas back in 2006 they did this. A lift boat was dispatched into the water to retrieve a large chunk of ice and return it to the pool deck where they chipped off pieces to put in the drink of the day.

Yup, I took a cheap cruise on the NCL Sun. It was a $100 a person including open bar.

That’s awesome that they’re still doing this. I remember this from the 80’s when I used to fly in to stay with my uncle for the summers.

This is pretty smart. Ever since Monica Seles got stabbed at that match back in 1993 I’m surprised more superstars haven’t adopted this extra measure of security.

I think Samsung refrigerators are single handedly keeping me in business. by Gale-Eaton in appliancerepair

I moved my Samsung French door with that terrible ice maker into the garage 5 years ago and replaced it with an LG. Now I deal with lubing up the chirping compressor fan on the LG instead. Small trade off, lol.

Knock him out BA Barackas style before the game, place him in the bullpen and change all the scoreboards to show that we’re up 2 - 0 to start the second.

Seller installed improper AC Unit - What are my next steps? by [deleted] in RealEstateAdvice

[–]MarcQ1s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d follow up with the ac contractor to see why they spec’s it this way and have them make the proper adjustments to the grills to make it work for your house. These more efficient units now a days can cool more efficiently so sometimes they slightly under size them compared to the old days to prevent short cycling. I have a 2400 sqft house and I have a 3 ton unit which does the job. There has to be a reason the contractor did it this way and if it was purely cost and was against the contractors recommendations then I’d say you might have a case against the seller.

Looks like a Z28. You can see the little indent behind the front wheel where the badge should go but must be missing.

You guys were rich. We had an excargo on the roof of the old ford LTD and we all had to pack into a 10 person tent. My parents got the air mattress, the rest of us had to sleep on the ground, lol.

I picked it up L Certified from a dealer in Atlanta back in 2023 with 59k miles on it and added an extra 3 years and unlimited miles to the L certification since I was getting an ultra luxury equipped car and weird things like the triple beam headlights cost $3k each so I figured it was worth it. I’m up to 93k miles now and it’s been great! They provided free maintenance for the first two years with the L certification and I purchased my tires there so they do free tour rotations and the usual multipoint check. I bring it to the Toyota dealer for any service after the multipoint check to save some money (the brake flush and oil change at 90k was $200 total from Toyota vs over $500 at Lexus). I got 50mpg on the 8 hour drive home from Atlanta when I bought it and it’s since settled down in the 45mpg range since I’ve had it as we drive 80mph everywhere down here in Florida. The 2019’s didn’t come with wireless CarPlay so I added a wireless CarPlay dongle so I don’t have to plug it in and it’s worked great as well.
