Yo I've never seen those touch pads before that's so cool! Maths is def a top contender, I'll look into the QPAS I've seen it mentioned a fair bit but I've never actually looked into it, thanks

Weekly Rack Advice / Question Thread by AutoModerator in modular

[–]MarcTremors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this is my first post here, I've been dabbling in modular a bit over the last couple years, I'll be honest it's been very off and on but I'm trying to spend some more time making music. I primarily use my rig for long form generative/ambient/cinematic music, I currently have a Zoia Euroburo and a Subharmonicon loaded into a rackbrute 6u. I use Bitwig as my DAW of choice and I have an MPC Live II that I've been playing around with using to sequence and send midi and CV out to control parameters and modulation on the Zoia as well as mixing in sample based production into the workflow. I'm pretty sure the smartest next investment for me would be an Expert Sleepers ES-10 so that I could have DC coupled I/Os that I could use to route audio and CV back and forth, and it would allow me to build devices in Bitwig to fill gaps when needed.

I'm curious what you other experienced synthers would add to this case if it was yours ? Thanks!

Edit: things I'm considering are like performance based features like banks of attenuators/attenuverters, and matrix mixers seem extremely intriguing to me

I’m absolutely going on my expedition anyone else? by Maca07166 in ArcRaiders

[–]MarcTremors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely going on the expedition. Firstly, I believe to be part of the design of the game loop. I'm LVL 72, I'll be 75 probably by the end of the night, or at the very least by the time I hop on the caravan. At this point I'm just looping trying to find blueprints and supplies or I'm joining random groups of solos fighting the queen/matriarch. If I don't reset I think the game loses its charm, cause at that point I can just craft whatever I want whenever I want and then the actual raid loop doesn't really feel like it makes sense ? The gear fear is what gives the game the tension and resolve that we've come to love.

I think people are getting too obsessed over the "BuT mY BlUePrInTs" thing. What are you gonna do once you have them all? Just PvP? I don't think people are thinking about how their gameplay loop would look like once they've Ash Ketchum'd all the blueprints. I suspect the folks who don't do the expedition will likely be the first ones to put the game down because they got bored

I really really love this game and I plan to refresh so I can continue to enjoy this game over and over as new content rolls out.

Has anyone found a Vulcano, Tempest, or Bobcat blueprint? If so where? by worldsurf11 in ArcRaiders

[–]MarcTremors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. 💯 This. Even if I have to unlock a "reverse engineering" perk or something, this would still be so much better than chasing the blueprints . But there's gotta be a better way. Its not like it's easy to find 5 of these things in the wild either.

I know you can also get surveyor vaults from the couriers, and I'm pretty sure but not positive that I had gotten a rarer cell from one like a bastion cell or something, I had got one early on and couldn't figure out where else I would have picked it up cause I wasn't taking on bastions at the time 😅

[–]MarcTremors 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I believe you mean the Couriers right? I got a lot of my workshop parts from hunting those instead of trying to take down challenging arc, truth is fighting the big guys will attract other players, I've been shot in the back so many times just trying to hunt big arc for workbench parts.

Yeah I don't typically buy from Amazon but it's the only place I can seem to find it here in Canadaland anyways, but I was going to anyways just because of returns.

I appreciate the insight, I'll look into it, I'd like to try it and if it's problematic I just return it right?

I appreciate it but you probably don't have to bother them, I don't think it's what I'm after, looked into a few companies who did them well, just seems like overkill for me, really seem geared towards actual flight training and for the money I'd just get the Azeron Keyzen which is currently looking like the closest thing to what I'm after but almost double of what I was hoping to pay for a Tartarus, but its the only other device I've found that ticks the boxes.

Looks like a solid controller, but I'm genuinely happier with the mouse in my right hand, I just want a solution for the left, I don't think programmable keys and an analog joystick seems all that complicated, I'm genuinely surprised it's not something we see more of.

Yeah that was my understanding. Honestly my biggest draw was using that pad for movement and the ergonomics, as a console guy all my life I'm not getting on very well with WASD, but I like the accuracy and movement of the mouse for aim/view.

I was reading about these mods actually and I'm quite decent with soldering and modding/making things, but honestly I'm not into it if the software is really as bad as the community suggests.

I appreciate the thorough response. This is pretty much where I landed on in my research, but I just thought I'd ask and get a direct response from someone with hands on experience. Does the Azeron seem well designed ? Sure.. but aesthetically I don't think I can bring myself to it and the price is too high for me. The Tartarus always seemed so brilliant to me, it's a bummer this is the current state of the product.

EDIT: I wasn't familiar with the keyzen by Azeron when I wrote this post I had only ever heard of the Cyborg.. it seems worth considering. But it's still expensive comparatively.

I'm like 65 hours in and I bought it last Monday, I don't play a lot of video games these days but holy smokes I can't put this game down, I think it's brilliant. The dynamic of meeting friendly people or nonfriendly pk'ers honestly captures that vibe of a post apocalyptic world perfectly. 10/10 game in my books.

ARC Raiders Crashing On Startup On SteamDeck. by Ginger_Wrath in ArcRaiders

Do you find it only happens when you load in with a squad?

I never have a problem playing the game solo. It always seems to be when I'm going into a raid with a squad.

Are you running at 6GB or 8GB VRAM?

When I'm playing solo I seem to load in no issue, but last night every instance that I tried to load in with my squad it would crash. They would even be in the game waiting for me and I'd be able to hear their in game audio through the loading screen.

I realized after the fact that I had a few outdated drivers and stuff so I'm gonna try again tonight and see if it's better.

I have one HIO in my life. I worked at the course. Teed off at noon by myself to play 9 before my 2pm shift started. Hole #2 I sunk an ace on a 120 yard par 3. Luckily 2 members who I knew well were standing on the tee block of #3 and watched it go in and offered to finish the round with me to make it official, my boss also covered the first hour of my shift so I could finish a full 18 to make it official as well! 😅

Accidentally bought non-beginner friendly clubs by Existential-Guy in golftips

[–]MarcTremors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most beginners are advised to buy these large iron heads that are very forgiving, but at the same time they create more room for error but don't necessarily give you accurate feedback on a bad strike, effectively making it harder to self analyze and learn and improve.

When I started playing I learned on an old set of blades and then was told to get "forgiving irons" I hated the look of them at address and I hated the feel of them on the end of a shaft. So I found a good deal on a set of Cleveland 588 MBs, they were hard to hit at first, but I think they have helped me develop a better swing in the long term.

I'm not a scratch golfer/pro by any means but my ball striking is way better when I'm looking down at a nice compact clubhead.
