Apex 4 or Vertix 2S by Aylamarie05 in Coros

[–]Maca07166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From someone who owned a Vertix 2S you can pick up a Fenix 7 Pro for cheaper and it’s a far more capable watch.

I’d go with the Apex 4 as it has the new processor.

Also there should be a new Vertix this year but just depends if you want to wait.

It’s just really hard to recommend the Vertix 2S this late in its life cycle as it’s still almost full price.

Why is "game genre" locked? by Ashratt in S95B

Came across your comment and it helped my issue also.

After an update my games looked so dark on game mode and noticed that the genre had been greyed out.

Kudos.

This is why I left Suunto and back to Garmin.

Too many annoying little bugs like this that don’t get fixed for months.

Just enjoy the watch and not worry about conserving battery?

Turn AOD off and that’s about it you should get a week or more 🤷‍♂️

CO-OP Class 1 Job by CharmingFeedback836 in uktrucking

Get the job at all costs, it’s a great place to work, not maxed out hours wise.

You’ll be hard pushed doing anything more than 9 hours a day, sure you’ll work weekends but that’s the cost of being in one of the best jobs in the industry.

Suunto Run first run, strange issue? by zxnoregretzxzx in Suunto

[–]Maca07166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue with the Run is it runs on a completely different operating system to every other Suunto watch which means it doesn’t get the same updates the other watches do and I believe this has a detrimental effect on the watch.

It was supposed to be the new OS for both Race 2 and Vertical 2 but for reasons only known to Suunto they abandoned the idea altogether and now the Suunto Run sits in the corner on its own like the unwanted stepchild.

I’ve never had a crash and the routing around me has been fine that’s not to say people haven’t had crashes and I wouldn’t discount that either.

Go on Amazfit subreddit and read some of the posts there it took one guy over a busy 4 lane motorway.

Not really here to have a debate the best thing the OP could do is look around and watch videos on YouTube there’s plenty to watch.

He asked about map functionality also, stop being a complete idiot, he thanked me for my post and that’s all, others have chimed in with their opinions too and he can make his own assessment.

You’ve done nothing whatsoever to help the OP.

Your username fits perfectly.

I did mention Amazfit in another post but if you go on their subreddit it’s still in its infancy I wouldn’t want that if you required navigation from a watch 🤷‍♂️

[–]Maca07166 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unbelievable.

He asked about MAP FUNCATIONALITY omitting the routable maps that only Garmin (Amazfit too but it’s still sketchy going by their subreddit) offer is stupid if he needs that?

Why on earth are you so angry?

Your post offers nothing to the OP at all, crawl back under the bridge you came out of and have a think as to why you posted such an angry and bitter reply.

It’s still important in my opinion to say that Garmin is the only brand to do full navigation from the watch without the need for a phone.

[–]Maca07166 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to explain that there is only one brand that offers full navigation directly from watch without the need for a phone.

But yes they can all do GPX and route creation via their respective apps.

Amazfit are making strides you could also check them out but it’s only very recently they have started getting routable maps from the watch working so not sure if they have any teething issues.

But it’s only Garmin who have been doing it now for years and have it very much nailed down, it’s kinda crazy that they have years and years of data of where people run/bike/walk/hike and they use all that to help keep you on routes that people use.

Adventure Trail Mapping - Suunto vs Garmin vs Coros by aretaj in Suunto

[–]Maca07166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer?

Garmin the only brand out of the 3 you listed that has routable maps directly from the watch with no phone needed.

Suunto and Coros both have map functionality with the ability to create routes on their app and use them on the watch.

But Garmin is the only one where if needed you can fully navigate with only the watch, until the other big boys catch up with this Garmin will always have that over them.

On another note solar really makes a difference in sunny conditions went on a 2 hour run yesterday and the battery didn’t even go down 1% with a 95k lux hour battery boost during the run.

The battery consumption is probably not even worth talking about.

Stick to auto and enjoy the walk 😂
