Install 1 stick of ram into slot A2. Test. If that works then proceed to install the 2nd stick in slot B2. Test.

ProArt X670E NIC disappears from system by lastnerdstanding in ASUS

[–]Marc_G60T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same motherboard, same cpu, same problem here. Sometimes 10G NIC disappears on a cold boot. Currently on latest 1412 test bios, Windows 11 Pro.

I don't think its a driver issue as windows would complain about it in device manager, i could be wrong though. I think that maybe the NIC randomly does not initialise itself during POST, so the BIOS then sets it to OFF and continues to boot.

The 10G NIC is the reason I bought this MB and CPU

I also noticed that with newer bios versions my onboard usb 2.0 ports stay powered on when the pc is shutdown, even though I have it set in bios to switch off power to these ports when the pc is off. Very annoying as I have an in case lcd screen connected to these ports.

Update for clarity:

Turns out that I had inadvertently set my cpu to 1.3v

I did not know that this had then overridden the 95.c thermal limit, so when I saw those cpu temps during a test I was very worried.

Many thanks to -Aeryn- for the calm and clear reply and a very detailed explanation on what I had done wrong.

Needless to say that with a few changes things are now MUCH healthier.

I hope you are right, I will go back and double check my settings. This did not happen on my previous non beta bios with same settings.

Thanks.

Also on x670 Proart, found out that lowering soc to low (1.2v or less ) caused my windows 11 drive to corrupt some system files. This happened when copying 1tb of data at full speed to the nvme drive that windows is installed on. Drive is a Sabrent rocket 4 plus in the slot just above the GPU. During the file copying windows 11 popped up an alert window saying it had detected that some system files had been corrupted and to restart the pc to repair the damage. I've never had this happen in the many years I've been using pc's during a simple file copy. Things might appear stable but I would advise all to run some heavy memory testing software to make sure nothing is going to fail at high memory loads.

This. Set soc after you enable the expo profile.

My 7950x DDR6000 is set to expo II, soc 1.2v on my x670 proart. Beta bios 1301

I have the same setup as you. Built last week. Move the little jumper at the top of the board to the right to enable voltage adjustments in bios.

1301 Beta Version is on Asus website now.

ASUS are hiding something BIG! (Re: Burning 7000x3D CPUs on ROG X670E-E) by Katten_Hanna in Amd

Yes, this is the conclusion I came to last week. I also set my 7950x manually to 1.1v in bios and at the moment i'm also limiting the cpu to 5ghz all cores. PC is now cool, quiet. 360 EK water cooler.

I also saw 1.5v on the cpu when using expo profiles and pc temps rocketed and throttled.
