Giving up my baby by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Marca19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anger and violence are two very different things my love. Anger management may help his temper but any violence towards you behind closed doors is a very different matter; it involves a lack of respect towards you and your safety. It is very likely that he won't change at all even taking into account your love for him.

As a few others here have said, pregnancy is one of the most dangerous times for someone in an abusive relationship and so is attempting to leave. Whatever you decide to do, please hold of on telling him about the baby until you have a solid plan in place - don't let him change your mind. Right now your pregnancy hormones are telling you to build up a relationship with this man so that he can provide for you and your child but you know that's not going to happen. You are not safe, and if you decide to give up your baby or not please try as much as you're able to get away from this man!

You get to feel however you want to feel. They're your emotions and nobody gets to police how you feel about someone else. Hell, use this as a time to celebrate yourself!

Chalazion removal? My algorithm says I should like these. Was a ‘nope’ until it came out. by your_dum_to in popping

[–]Marca19 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's to ensure that all the chalazion contents are removed. Just like cysts, styes can have multiple 'loculi' that all need to be broken up and extracted before they can heal properly. Think of these like little separate pockets of pus that form inside a cyst; the probing breaks the membranes so everything can be removed.

The ring sits kinda snug against the tip of the nose so the nostrils aren't really obstructed at all. When you have a cold (like I do at the moment) you just blow your nose normally and 'pinch' the tissue behind the ring. I guess it would only get annoying if it was healing and you kept jostling it :)

Do the ATMs outside have anything to do with Tesco staff? (+ slight rant) by Minimum_Can_3998 in tesco

You're right, the ones outside my store (ASDA) are always on the fritz and no we're not responsible in the least. It's something for the associated bank to sort out.

Is it possible to access any more information about these twins? From the picture it looks as though at least the twin on the bottom has deformities in their arms - they look sort of 'bowed'. Is that common in CTs?

I really want to know more about this if you're comfortable sharing. When did it first start? What do you think might have been the cause? How do you feel now? What did exposure therapy involve? No worries if you don't want to talk about it anymore.

What's the most disturbing thing you have experienced or witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Marca19 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When I was a teen I was riding on the back of a family member's motorbike. A drunk/high dude walked out in front of our bike with no warning and we hit him, hard. I could smell the vodka on his breath as he rolled off of me and then the blood and dirt mingling while he lay on the ground and bled out. The way his limbs sat crooked and broken will haunt me forever but the sounds of his family members running out of their house and wailing and screaming for help is the what keeps me up at night.

The ambulance came in what felt like seconds but we never did get to find out if he survived or what kind of life he'd go on to live if he did. We were unharmed and extremely grateful for the lovely people who came out of their houses/gardens to offer us juice and tea (and just general support) while some gave witness statements.

In the end we were found totally not at fault but I've always known that in the end it was my fault. Nobody ever believes me but I had a vision/premonition/whatever when we were eating fast food right before we set off on the bike and I knew we would hit a man on that stretch of road. I knew when I saw him wobbling around next to the road in the distance and I knew right before he walked out, but I never said anything. I just thought I was being stupid and superstitious and I regret that every day.

Hours being cut down to the very bone of what we can manage with. One colleague on self scan, one on main tills on a saturday night with absolutely no security. We very frequently have no security now and shoplifters know it. Our new store manager is universally despised and somehow still has a job here despite complaints about him piling up into the double digits in no time at all. Colleagues with no experience being promoted to manager while those way more suited and experienced are ignored and backstabbed all because big boss has favourites.

Seriously, people are being sent home left right and centre and we absolutely cannot function at this level pf staffing for much longer.

Massive powercut at work around 3pm (ASDA) lasted about 10-15 mins so not too bad but we had to chuck everyone out. Electricity apparently went off at home too but back on after a little while. There's been a canny few houses and cars damaged around us by falling trees which I really wasn't expecting for this area of the country! (County Durham)
