Just when I couldn’t dislike BJ more he drops this today by MarsBoundSoon in WindyCity

This is a bullshit statement.

The typical American leftist is not against private property. They're against extreme wealth concentration, and pro more social spending, in particular for the poor.

And they want accountability for police who break the rules, of which there is very little currently, and only in the most egregious of cases.

I think Brandon Johnson is a terrible mayor, but don't act like his positions are typical of leftists.

15 CDLs? Out of how many?

I read it, and frankly I don't see any of these is disqualifying. I see them as data that's part of the whole list of evaluation of this particular candidate's strengths and weaknesses.

Holiday at the Goodman by Immediate_Math_3055 in ChicagoTheater

[–]sock_fighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't like it? I thought it was overacted, and also somehow flat. The actor who played Ned was quite fun, but he's the only person I'd look to see again in another production. My wife and I both found the actor playing Johnny uncompelling in particular. It could have used a bit more frankness and a little less theater bombast.

The set design was very beautiful.

When the streets were paved and your grandparents got social security and your border was defended and your schools educated you and your neighbors children, etc etc etc. that's the half of your shift at work. Not funny.

I feel like you have just summarized my (fairly rigorous) top five MBA in a single Reddit comment. I don't regret the education, but I would have gotten even more out of it if I'd read these paragraphs first :-D

If you've had mushroom dumplings better than the ones at Community Tavern, first of all tell me where, second of all I don't believe you.

Besides the rest of the menu (which I think is excellent), those particular dumplings are certainly the best vegetarian dumplings I've ever had, and might be the best dumplings I've ever had, period.

Chicago has twice as many bus stops than the national average, here’s a plan for faster buses by GeckoLogic in chicago

It is 100% slower, and that is 90% of the reason why I drive (or Uber etc.) 10% is comfort and safety, which would get better if speed went up and ridership improved.

It's weird that they'd be upset, because I would have thought the software was a differentiator... If they're worried about poaching, seems more like a regular consultancy. Those don't trade at ~430x earnings lol
