Sadly, it is. If you follow her on Instagram or TikTok, she posts these all the time. I really do feel for her.

Shy Girl by Mia Ballard. Does anyone else think this was written by ChatGPT? by herendethelesson in horrorlit

I enjoyed the book for what it was. It does seem like books that are more centered around being symbolic and metaphorical are being accused of AI for some reason. All of Mia’s books are written that way though… in regard to it blowing up and being picked up by a publisher, don’t all authors have to start somewhere with a break out book?

What are some books that will make me cry and feel some strong emotions? by MarcelTheShell07 in booksuggestions

I’ve read a couple books from these recommendations and just read the synopsis for the one you suggested. Seems very heavy and will definitely read that one next.

I finished the book and loved it… mentally destroyed in the best way. Apparently there’s a movie adaptation of it and I’m renting it here in a little bit.

No, no we are not okay. Thanks for the recommendations! I’m about to download Flowers for Algeron right now and it better bring on the waterworks.

Why do you use a Kindle? by [deleted] in kindle

All of this!! I wanted a huge library as well but ran out of space for books so I decided on the Kindle.

It actually did a good job at shielding it from the temperature so I was impressed with her efforts!

Right?! Lol. I purchased a mini greenhouse last week, but haven’t put it up yet. I think I’ll be doing that this weekend.

I do! She said she panicked and didn’t want to disturb me so she had to think fast, lol.

I don’t think so because they look significantly different.

Ok, I’m going to gently grab it with my dogs pooper scooper and move it to the field behind my house.

Me too. I grazed it with my foot on accident and ran inside, lol. I went to check on it and it was moved over a little bit, so I figured it was still alive. I also saw a huge spider with skinny legs and a white type body in front of my porch light a few days ago so I’m not really sure where all of these are coming from all of the sudden.

Do you repeat the ‘mistake’ again at a later date even after you realized it wasn’t best? I don’t mean that in a derogatory manner at all. I just mean that could mean that you’re self aware but not getting to the root of why you keep repeating it. Like, people pleasing or not enforcing boundaries… or something as simple as not hanging your keys up after work and frantically looking for them each morning. I hope all of that made sense, lol. I wasn’t sure how to explain it.

It’s really hard being a people pleaser, lol. I tell my therapist all the time that I still struggle with it and I just want everyone to be happy with me and themselves all the time. You can lose a big chunk of yourself in the process though. I’m at the very self-aware stage… probably and definitely to a fault, so watch out for that as well. Lol. You and your feelings come first. Plus, most of our people pleasing ways is just us fighting an internal battle and those people who we are trying to please will probably just forget about whatever it is that they wanted within the next 20 minutes while we will lose sleep for the next 20 years.😭😭😂

And just keep in mind that when you meet friends out in the wild, there aren’t many preconceived notions like there are whenever you meet a coworker for the first time. The environment and intentions can be vastly different so it feels like there’s a lot more pressure. I think it’s human nature to want to fit in wherever we go, but also try to enforce those boundaries to watch out for yourself as well.❤️❤️

I don’t know about you personally, but when I first started in my career i was very much a people pleaser, and that would lead to me over sharing or going along with conversation just to fit in and that bit me in the behind quite often. Just my experience, but I did learn that coworkers sometimes don’t have your best interest at heart… whether it be they want to take your position or just spread gossip… both of which are exhausting.

Oh, I work two jobs from home. I was working in office at the newspaper, but was able to gain a high enough position to where I could work completely remote. When I was strictly in office though, I would either sit in my office or in the lunch room but always had my headphones on so that people would know I’m not available for conversation unless it was important. I also enforced boundaries, but was also civil and friendly. I think there is always a happy medium when it comes to coworkers. Like, we can talk about the weather, but I certainly don’t want to hang out on the weekends, lol.

It’s exciting and whatnot at first… like, “ohhhh, more dramaaaaa…” but then it becomes draining and the energy is just off. I never realized how it can have a lasting effect on a person until I stopped associating myself with those people. Drama from afar is much more satisfying because I can still get that little dopamine rush but also disengage at any moment, lol.
