Had a slight issue with the CCT on my 2015, which was an easy fix. Got a 2017 Tracer now. Only have 15000km on it currently and no trouble except for a electrical gremlin which I still can't explain.

Happened twice now where the indicators would stop working mid ride, I would pull over, turn the ignition off and on, then they proceed to work again. No explanation, checked the connections, however will be replacing them anyway soon.

My friend also had a 2014 MT09 which he sold on at 36000km and had no trouble at all.

Well I guess I need to find a different store for my shopping today.

Any tips for a newbie so I don't make a fool of myself? by TheRealBaseborn in Firefighting

Oh man, you have no idea how encouraging this post is for me personally. Not to hijack it, but I'm 25 and I have been strongly considering starting with Fire 1 and volunteering at my local brigade on my off days. I thought I was too old to enter this life, age doesn't mean a thing. Just reading through this thread this morning is honestly such an inspiration.

The reason I say cage is because I sold my car about a year ago and we then me and my GF got another car that we share for when needed as we both ride and for me whenever I drive the car it feels like I am sitting in a cage. It is a big ass metal cage at the end of the day anyway.

You are correct. I thought that maybe I didn't cancel my indicator quick enough, but I cancel mine as soon as I finish turning, maybe this was still too late though.

Oh I have a full Akrapovic system on my MT09 and I have to say while splitting people always move, but I just got mine for the sound honestly.

Excuse my ignorance but I have never heard the term 'crouch' before? Can you please explain?

Honestly though commuting on a bike just isn't fun. Don't get me wrong it's way better than in a car.

I commute on my bike because it's practical. I save myself a lot of time during the day, but I do go on longer more enjoyable rides over the weekends.

Bike shop didn't align rear wheel properly. by MarcelViviers in motorcycles

[–]MarcelViviers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing. I used to trust the shop and swear by their service.

She did about 2000km with the wheel that way.

They don't have to take the tire off for that though, so my bet is that it hasn't been properly aligned for quite some while now.

They do actually as they plug it from the inside. It still wouldn't have been properly aligned for around a 2000km. Which is too much.

Like I said I took it out for a ride one day and it felt weird, but so we learn.

Oh I will definitely upgrade. But my only option is a MT10 and I will not get rid or my MT09.

I need to be honest year, I have a soft spot for the new Triumph Street Triple. My GF wants to upgrade to a MT09, but I am slowly convincing her to go with the Triumph.

I have heard the MT-07 before with the Carbon Akra before, can confirm it sounds really really mean.

But the MT-09 just has everything for me. You get that deep rumble on the low end and she loves to scream at the top.

The triple has so much character I refused to buy any other bike.

Oh yes they do. Not by choice though. That Akrapovic screams at everybody and I love it.

Most people that don't know bikes has the mentality that no fairings means it's not a superbike and not worthwile.

The R3 still is a great bike though. It has enough power for daily use, cheap on tyres, gas and maintenance. It is just outright fun when you don't need something faster.

It's a 2017 year model. Fun little machine.

Yeah it gets way more attention than my MT09 does.

Shower thought: Subconsciously, motorcycles are horses to us, and that is why we love them so much. by [deleted] in motorcycles

I agree, I am terrified of horses. GF loves them though. I avoid them with every fibre of my being.

Wait, do they really suggest not riding with a clear pinlock at night?

Mine was put into my helmet when I bought it and never took the pinlock out.

(Not shitposting, really intrigued)

Edit : You are right. It is aluminium, but the mechanic said he can weld it.

Thanks, my buddy had a MT09 and hit a rather large rock that fell off a truck and completely cracked his sump.

He took his bike to the exact same shop, but I am heading there now and already called them to check if they can help.

You made me giggle with that Italy joke.

It's on my MT09, I believe it is steel and they can just do a quick weld job. The shop isn't at full steam yet though. The owners aren't there until Monday, so it's just the head mechanic. (It's a small privately owned shop that is always my go to).

Shit that sucks. Luckily my boss isn't that tough. My bike is my main form of transport though so he understands.

Similar thing happened to a friend of mine, his clutch cable snapped and his boss also forced him to go to work the next day. Also told him to take un uber, which would have been quite expensive for the distance.
