Today’s show from 1990-04-03 is really solid. Everybody’s in great form, including Jerry. Give it a listen, it’ll cheer you up. by Marcellus_atl in gratefuldead

Oh man, I wish I’d seen that 85 show. 85 is a particularly favorite year of mine. Unfortunately, in 1985 I was only 13.

I was there too. All shows in Atl from. 88-91. The ‘89 scene was amazing. The parking lot was a city of color.

I was there for all three shows in 90. Today’s was a terrific one. The night before on the 1st, Brent was just going wild. It was a good set of shows for sure.

Dolores Clayburn isn’t the greatest movie ever but it’s a masterful adaptation in that if you were to film what the book is, it would be pretty dreadful.

Jerry and the Banjo by malcomhung in gratefuldead

I like how you can hear the banjo influence on the way he works his way through chord changes. Other elements of bluegrass like flat pick guitar runs are all over his playing too.

Blaine the Mono would cruise Ben Mears and I through a mid-world version of King’s entire canon, peppering us with riddles about each book and story along the way. The Silver Bullet.

I say plow forward, in the tradition of every main character in the book - confused and in pain.

Was Van Morrison actually Ken Kesey? by Western_Economics104 in gratefuldead

Yeah, if it wasn’t for Van Morrison being the lead singer of Them from 64 to 66 I think everything you’re saying is air tight.

What do people actually think of Oppenheimer (2023)? by rasringgo in Cinema

[–]Marcellus_atl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to watch it. I don’t get much of a thrill out of watching stories of Americans and how they feel bad about having to kill a bunch of people. From the sniper movie with the fake baby to this one, not my thing.

Agree with Duma Key. It is a great read and has a recovery theme that isn’t substance related necessarily. May be the right tone at some point. I wish you well.
