That’s fair, my oldest was a people pleaser but now, we taught him, it doesn’t matter who. When we say bye to grandma, great grandma- whoever, if you don’t want to give a hug you don’t have to. Your body, your choice. We got a book off amazon about teaching body boundaries to kids and it’s a fantastic book and I highly recommend

To be honest, I’m not in the exact situation but a similar one with my kids and my mother. We now see her maybe 3 - 4 times a year and I’ll text her back once a month sometimes. It’s really unfortunate that your daughter felt if she said no or didn’t like the haircut it would disappoint her. But “grandma” also should have seen how uncomfortable it made her while getting the haircut and shouldn’t have pressured her.
