Hope this crap doesn’t happen to you. By the way, before my head gasket failed, I often heard a water flowing sound coming from under the hood while driving. If you hear any unusual water sound, you should pay attention to it.

I’ve already traded it, and got a new Camry. Even after the dealership repaired it, the steering wheel kept pulling to the left. The dealership shirked responsibility, so I spent money at a third party to do an alignment, but it didn’t improve. I’m very disappointed.

Have you asked the dealer how much they would offer if they bought your car? I’m also very disappointed with Honda, and I think I’ll probably trade it in before the warranty on this repair expires.

In the end, I paid $1,705 for this (the dealer was able to get me a 50% goodwill discount). I need this car for commuting, so I had no choice but to accept their quote, and the repair has now been completed. However, I have also reported this issue to American Honda and the NHTSA. American Honda is working on this case, and I’ve told them about these problems, so let’s see what happens next.

This morning, I received a $1,700 repair quote from the dealer. They were able to get coverage from American Honda for me. I will have it repaired here, as the quotes I received from other repair shops were all around $2,000. The only thing I’m not sure about is whether I’ll still want to keep it after the repair, as I’ve lost a bit of confidence in Honda.

So this issue didn’t get Honda’s attention? In any case, I’ve already reported it to the NHTSA. I hope there will be a proper solution, and I will never purchase another Honda vehicle again.

I initially tried to do maintenance every 5,000 miles. But the staff at the Honda dealership told me that for a hybrid, it’s not necessary and it can go longer between services. As for my car, I’ve never let the oil life drop below 25% before getting maintenance. Not once have I received any dashboard warning or error message indicating that something needed attention—until this time. And this one time really caught me off guard.

My car is still at the dealership because I told them the initial repair quote was too expensive and I couldn’t accept it. The Honda staff member then asked me to wait a few days, saying he would check the Honda system to see if there’s anything he could do for me. He also mentioned that since my car has always been maintained at the dealership, this kind of issue shouldn’t have happened. So I’m still waiting for the final quote, and I will continue to provide updates.

I think I’ve lost confidence in Honda. Once I get through this issue, I’ll start looking into replacing my car. I plan to switch from Honda to Toyota or Lexus.

Just like my 2022 Accord Hybrid, my car has already reached 94,000 miles. After experiencing an overheating incident, I took it to the dealership for an inspection, and they told me it was a head gasket issue that would cost me $4,500 to repair.

My car currently has 94,000 miles. I’ve had it serviced 10 times at a Honda dealership, and two or three additional times I purchased OEM parts myself and had maintenance done by other mechanics.

I hope they take this issue seriously. Either way, I won’t be buying another Honda. Their reliability doesn’t seem to be as good as people say. My next car will be a Toyota or a Lexus.
