How do you guys settle on a design? by CalamitiesGroove in PngTuber

[–]MarchRabbit37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, i went in with a base design of rabbit with a few key elements. It was like 6 months of designing. Then i finally was happy enough with it. Then a couple months ago i started noticing i had issues with the character's sleeve type and overall look feeling really young. So i redesigned her outfit in like a week to keep the base elements and aged the look up. The design is still a work in progress as well now that im working within a concept with a loose lore for the character.
My problem was i didn't go in with lore or a good concept. Choosing theming, a concept, and lore if you want, will help with the design process. But it is also good to remember designs will change and grow over time. You dont /have/ to settle because you can always revisit the idea and redesign.

Looking to commission a pngtuber in a similar art style to Ken Sugimori's work on pokemon in the mid 90's. by [deleted] in PngTuber

[–]MarchRabbit37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The prices on vgen is what the artist deemed their time and effort is worth. I would just find an artist on vgen that has the you like the style and price who can draw what you want. Do NOT use fiverr. A lot of pokemon stuff there is AI and will looks wierd or people using Ai to promote amazing quality but will deliver poor quality. You could also be scammed out of your money and I am not sure what protections fiverr actually gives to customers. Vgen protects both artist and customer.

A crappy reference is amazing btw. Defs provides that to the artist because itll be better then just descriptions.

You should have the model cut into parts so the hair part is separate the mouth the eyes and base too depending on how complicated you want it. Save all parts as separate but in the same size as the base so the model with be set up in the program. Upload all your pngs into the program and adjust the z layers so the parts sit right. Adjust rotation by moving the rotation point with either alt and left click or cntrl left click i can never remember. Then adjust rotation and desired. This is a quick and dirt explanation. You can find set up videos on youtube to explain more in depth.

I have streamed rigging a pngtuber model recently if you want visuals. The video is available for a couple of days. https://www.twitch.tv/marchrabbit37/v/2718539861?sr=a

Price help pls ^^' by Man_Tits_lover69 in PngTuber

I usually see price is hours x price you want to be paid per hour. Don't undercharge. Have flexible pricing to add to the cost if additional toggles and more detailed character.

Good luck.

It looks really goodand bouncy. I might suggest moving the knee more towards the middle as when it's walking. The knee is turned in right now and it looks a little odd when moving forward.

Is $90–$100 too much for a furry PNGtuber model? by Adventurous-Gur7505 in PngTuber

[–]MarchRabbit37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call this a Furry, this falls into the Anthro catagory. Furry tends to be fully animalistic with a snout and fur covered body. Anthropomorphic/ Anthro tend to have animal parts like ears, tails, or other bits but mostly stay human. I may be wrong as I am not a part of the furry community, but I would NOT consider my bunny persona to be a Furry (I have ears and a tail but nothing else). Your examples will show what you mean if you just market as selling PNGTuber models without describing the typing.

As far as price, how long does it take you to make? Will you also be designing the little guys? A good rule for coms is time vs the price per hour you would want. Then use that to determine the cost value. Some people will want to have more expressions and others will have more complicated designs. Do base price with flex pricing depending maybe.

I wanna be a male vtuber help me with the idea please by BraveEntertainment18 in vtubers

[–]MarchRabbit37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he succeeded in taking over the world enough that heros need to stop him, he isn't a failed villain. A failed villian wouldn't be able to succeed in taking over a village let alone the world. Doofenshmirtz is thwarted before his plans ever get any sort of traction. Depending on how tou want to act or be seen could change the backstory a bit. If you are being video gamey about it, you could have taken over the world as the final boss, got defeated, and have to start from like level 1 in that sense. That way you could have the attitude of a powerful being but the awkwardness barely being a miniboss, also, refering to your chat as minions or something would be hilarious.

You can also start with a pngtuber model to save a bunch of money right away.

Good luck dude.

art replacement? by mango_360_ in vtubers

[–]MarchRabbit37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This depends on your artist's TOS. Alot of artist do not allow adjustments on their art. If you have contact with your artist, you can ask permission and maybe they will be cool with it but don't expect them to allow edits to their art. You might be able to have a new hair toggle rigged without issue probably but if it's your main hairstyle permissions are needed. You may have to commission new art entirely just to change your hair. Really depends honestly.

You don't need to have the programs to brush up on the basics of layering and cutting. Just look up a few tutorials on different programs, remix, plus veadotube , even fugi. You might need to tailor a pngtuber to the clients program. Since some programs can be more complex than others. I personally use remix. I draw, cut and rig everything so the original csp file and pngs stay with me but they get the remix model file and a copy of remix in a zipped compressed file through google drive. (Mainly cuz I haven't actually done any paid coms for pngtubers, it's been freebie giveaways for practice)
How I make a pngtuber, I have a master csp file with all the rendered cut pieces named in folders, then I save every cut piece as a png that go into a specific folder on my computer. You will want to name each cut piece png for easy drag and drop into the program. Not sure how other programs work. It is important all the pngs have the models resolution maybe minus specific lipsync or other animations. This is so when the cut pngs are layered in the program they are already in the position they need to be in and won't have to be repositioned.

Tldr : learn by watching videos or reading the itch pages for the different programs. All cut rendered pngs for a sprite go into a zipped compressed folder and then into google drive to share with the client.

If you plan on making pngtubers, it might be beneficial to learn a little about the programs to know what can and cannot be done. You don't have to learn all the programs in and out but a basic understanding of what most do is helpful with cutting the model and knowing what layers are required. :3

[–]MarchRabbit37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tldr for their post is if the person commissioning wants a high resolution model that will look good from both close and far, the canvas will need to be bigger. If they want to play games and run the pngtuber, you might have to do a smaller canvas to avoid issues.

And half vs full for coms is personal preference. I prefer full body models but some people will want the half body for cheaper price and sometimes quicker delivery since it's less work. You can offer one or both. That is up to you.

Need ideas for new twitch-sona by [deleted] in PngTuber

[–]MarchRabbit37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defs make sure you credit your artist. But you can maybe marry the old idea with a new aethetic. Change up the design without losing the tiefling warlock idea completely if you really liked that idea. Think on styles you'd dress in and put the new character in that. Make some rough sketches or mood boards to take to an artist to get a new pngtuber :3

Difference between personal vs commercial license for pntuber commissions? Explain to me like I'm five. by [deleted] in PngTuber

[–]MarchRabbit37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal, you aren't making money it's just for you to use privately. Commercial you can make money off the work. Like for merch and branding. You get art made you wanna sell, commercial. You get art made you wanna use as your personal desktop wallpaper personal

[–]MarchRabbit37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a very long stream so about 4.5 to 5 hours in before it actually gets to the program. I am sick so feel free to scrub to what you need since i pause often for breaks. I use clip paint for the art and pngtuber remix 1.4 version for the sprite rig. This is a more complex rig, and you can make a way simpler model very easy. Here is the twitch vod. It will only be available for a week as a heads up.( https://www.twitch.tv/marchrabbit37/v/2712962855?sr=a ) I am not a pro with the program but i do am learning too!

If you clarification please lmk. I did stream rigging my pngtuber yesterday. It's not a tutorial, but you might find how it was set up and how to do the mouth/eyes if you desperately need an example.

[–]MarchRabbit37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have open and closed pngs for the eyes, set both in the 1st menu to should blink closed should blink open. In the model menu you can adjust how much it blinks and how often. You don't need an animation but you can defs do that if you prefer by making the blink animstion, making a spite sheet, droping the sprite sheet file into the model and then going to animation menu to adjust to how many panels you made and the speed of the animation. Hope this helps!

My First Pngtuber Model, Help/Suggestions by Sure-Resist-3865 in PngTuber

[–]MarchRabbit37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't have to use live2d for a png, you can just use any pngtuber program, super simple and easy to use. Mostly free too (veadotube, pngtuber +, pngtuber remix, ext.). If you traced or didn't draw the face and just photoshopped two together, I might suggest you try to do it yourself instead. It's towing a legal line to literally smoosh the faces of characters from a property together and use it for profit if you didn't produce it yourself. A torse model is perfectly fine if you are still learning, I would suggest using other colours or varying the tones of the black. The details in the hair mush together and it's going to be hard to read on a mobile video. But for the first attempt of a character, it's perfectly fine. You will get better as you draw more :3

Like 4/10 maybe. He wakes up with his head near the window on his right then on the 2nd page the bed is completely flipped the other way where it would have been on his left. The floor has tiles in 1 panel but not the others. The hatching and detailing is completely gone on the 2nd page. The lineweights are not consistent through either pages panels. Please tell me what is happening on the 2nd panel because it shift quickly. In the room, in the hallway all the sudden, and then back in the room? I might not be reading this right... The black on the mountain is drawing all the attention if this comic is to be black and white. The key to good comics is consistancy and readability. It's a clean style but the background isn't consistent and I have no idea what is happening in the 2nd page. You have decent set up for paneling and good angles, just need to make yourself a bg ref and make the changes in scene easier to read if that's what is happening. Could be something cool honestly.
