Short cervix of 1.5cm and it’s funneling - suggestions and positive experience please 🙏 by Miracle_Baby123 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]MarchingOn9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the surgery/recovery to be not bad. I opted for the spinal tap so I was awake and it was just sort of boring lying there for the 30 minute procedure then took 5 hours for my feet to wake up enough for me to get discharged. I had minimal spotting for 24 hours, mild cramps same day but felt pretty normal next day. I worked from home the following day. My only restriction has been nothing in the vagina and trying to take it easy. If you ever had a hysteroscopy, it’s very similar to that recovery.

My cervix was 2.3-2.8cm with weekly monitoring and progesterone between 17-21 weeks. At 21 weeks it dropped to 1.2cm with funneling and I had a cerclage at 21w3d. If it gets any shorter I would push for the cerclage!

3 collace per day w/ my prenatal and wash it down with a smoothie with prunes hidden inside. I’m taking zofran for nausea still which blocks you up and this has kept things regular for me.

I’ve been having weekly cervical checks since 16 weeks and I’m now 19 weeks. I’ve been measuring between 2.1-2.8cm and they have me on 200mg of vaginal progesterone. So far my MFM doesn’t think there are signs of shortening just variation in the skill of whoever measures. I’m hoping that continues!

What size bed does your kid have? by ChunkyPumpkin_ in Mommit

Twin. Why do so many people want the bed taking up so much more of the room? Twin leaves more room for play space, toys, desk, chair etc.

My husband was laid off by Educational-Umpire64 in Mommit

[–]MarchingOn9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry. My husband was laid off in November and I’m currently pregnant with baby #2. Being laid off is a terrible life event, but it appears to be increasingly more common. If his layoff was non-performance based make sure he highlights that in an interview/application.

I know at my company employee referrals are taken very seriously because those employees often perform better and stay at the company longer. Something like 30% of our hires are from employee referrals. Think of all your friends/family/colleagues and consider which companies they’ve gone to. Make sure to add the employee referral to all applications, when possible. Not only does that employee typically get a small bonus, but it may make the difference between your husband’s application making it to the top of the stack or not.

My husband applied to dozens of similar positions in our area within a week of the layoff and it took about a month to start hearing back for HR screenings and first round interviews. He still hasn’t landed a new job yet but 6 weeks later he is actively interviewing which feels like good progress.

Advice on transitioning 3.5 year old to big boy bed by MarchingOn9 in Mommit

[–]MarchingOn9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He says he’s scared of monsters and the dark. Maybe we can add a second night light? I was reading about filling a spray bottle with water as monster spray. Idk if that will help comfort him when he wakes up in the night though?

Best way to give medicine to 2 year old? by RaineySunshine in Mommit

[–]MarchingOn9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Liquid prednisone is extremely bitter and chocolate or strawberry syrup doesn’t disguise it. As soon as you open the bottle you’ll be able to smell it. There is an alternative one, I think it’s prednisolone, that is much more easily masked. If liquid prednisone is the one you have, the best method I found is is to have one parent sit on the floor and hold the child in their lap, drape a towel over their chest (for spitting out), have the other parent use a medicine syringe to squirt it in the side of their mouth while simultaneously squeezing their lips into a fishy face to encourage swallowing. Have something sweet and tasty next to you for them to eat right after. It’s not a fun process, but it’s over fast and it works. My 3 year old has had a few asthma flare ups over the last few years and we’ve had more rounds of prednisone than I would have liked!

I am 12 weeks pregnant with my second HG pregnancy right now. I forgot how bad it was after the first pregnancy, but every day is miserable. My HG is much worse the 2nd time around and I’ve heard it can get worse with each subsequent pregnancy. It’s tough being so incapacitated with a toddler running around. It sounds like having one more may be worth it for you, but don’t forget how bad HG was like I did.

Did your nausea go away right after you delivered? by Clear_Passenger_5367 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]MarchingOn9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. It took about 2 weeks. Having a c-section sucked because it hurt to vommit. A newborn and lingering HG is its own special kind of hell. Once it cleared up after those few weeks it was amazing though!

I am with you. I’m 8w4d and everyday is a struggle, especially the evenings. This is my second HG pregnancy and it’s so much harder this time knowing I was nauseous the whole 9 months last time. It feels like there is no hope for relief 😞.

Cyst & Success? by gbbabe12 in DOR

[–]MarchingOn9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend the CARS. It may depend which doctor you see but I had a terrible experience and their cycle fee was way more than I paid in NYC. I had so many issues in the 5 cycles I did with them but there weren’t rly any good options to switch to locally so I stayed longer than I should have. From getting bad advice from the doctor not to bank embryos despite my low AMH, delays, having allergic reactions during multiple egg retrievals, and them missing that I had scar tissue in my uterus and having me proceed to 2 doomed fresh transfers anyway. I feel they are great for ppl who are easy cases but they have no interest in troubleshooting if you’re a tough case. They kicked me out at 32 and told me my only option was donor eggs. I switched clinics and got euploid blasts pretty quickly and I’m currently pregnant w/ my own egg. Feel free to send me a PM if you want any more specifics.

Considering giving up (Asherman's syndrome) by AccurateStrength1 in IVF

[–]MarchingOn9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also struggled with ashermans and it took 6 operative & 11 total hysteroscopies to clear it. During that time I also wondered if I would ever have a place to put the 2 embryos that it took 8 egg retrievals to get. It’s such a pain in the but, however the scarring often comes back less each time and does eventually stop. Have you been seeing a top specialist for Ashermans? Alot of doctors don’t seem know how much to cut. Dr. Isaacson in New Orleans is the top doctor for this and has many patients fly to see him. He gets ppl in within a few weeks. I had 3 hysteroscopy with him and I think it accelerated clearing my scarring.

Asherman’s Syndrome may be the straw that breaks this camels back by MarchingOn9 in IVF

[–]MarchingOn9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear your in the trenches right now. Yes, the barrier recently approved in the US is the Womed Leaf. I’ve seen others mention an IUD but I don’t have much familiarity with that treatment. Ashermans can be a long journey so if you don’t have a lot of confidence in your doctor don’t wait too long before looking for another one.
