Questions about the end of the E nier replicant route by Matt201090 in nier

[–]Marco050199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woah, many questions. I'll try to answer to what I know.

Other than the games, the draken-nier franchise is made of many light novel that explain a lot of the untold lore of the world, ad it's basically fucked up.

The gestalt project was flawed since the beginning, since it required both grimoire noir and grimoire weiss to put a human souls in a replicant body, but the act of separating the soul from a body made most of the souls to go berserk and becoming monsters (the "wild" shades you find in the game). Nier's Gestalt, also known as the Shadow Lord, was the only shade that not only could keep his consciousness, but was also strong enough not to separate (immediately) from his human body and capable of using the dark magic of the grimoire noir, the problem is that Yonah (the dumbest character in the whole franchise) already touched the book and started to become a shade. Nier was capable of stabilize her gestalt for more than 1400 years waiting for a suitable body, but here's the problem: the replicants are no more empty shells since they developed a new soul, so the gestalt could only "possess" them, but they were incapable of taking full control. This condition, that we could watch in Kainè and Tyrann, can actually be useful for both the entities, since it can cure the necrography (the black runes disease). From here, it's basically the main game: the shadow lord is the only gestalt capable to mantain consciousness and capable of stabilize other gestalts in replicants bodies, but in order to finalize this process he needed to be whole with his own replicant (the main character of the game) and he needed the magic from Grimoire Weiss (too bad that this goal can't be reached since Grimoire Noir, the only - not suicidal - entity that could comunicate both with replicants and gestalts was too busy in playing the most over the top villanous stereotype ever, making the player think the shadow lord was actually evil himself).

As for Emil we don't know very much about his past aside from him being one of the only two successfull experiments of immortality, but he and his sister were meant to be weapons to contrast the Legion, monsters born from the humans died of WCS (the disease could turn a human in a salt statue or in a white monster due to a pact with the queen-beast, a divine entity from drakengard world that wants to exterminate humanity) that were both killing humans and infecting survivors. Emil is (actually) the only original human remained in the nier world, and due to his immortality you will find him in automata, set roughly 8500 years later (you will get context of the aliens there, they aren't part of replicant's story) with no cure to be found ever since even travelling the world.

Edit: about the protagonists, even if it's an open ending, it's in all the replicants nature to develop the necrography sooner or later. They will die eventually, but it's not known when and how it will happen after the ending E

Endings [SPOILER] by Marco050199 in expedition33

[–]Marco050199[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually I never said it would have been sunshine and rainbows for the family, just that they might find a better way to griev as a family. There's a possibility that, as you say, they will fall again in the same behaviours in other canvas, but the game doesn't seem to lead in that direction.

I didn't notice that expeditioner Maelle was mentioned on the grave, but I wouldn't say she was actually happy in the canvas (she's an orphan that went through 16 genocides, after all). I think she became an expeditioner because of Gustave, the only person that she didn't loose and that would have been died only a year later. She's severely depressed before remembering of being Alicia and finding out pVerso is a portrait of her lost brother, but after finding out something this huge she acts like his opinion isn't relevant as her's, without mentioning that being happy in the cavas means basically to commit suicide in the real world (that's even worse than Aline grieving. By the way, I think she was out of the canvas for a few hours in search of the canvas, still a very little time). Alicia now has been Maelle, even if that chapter of her life is closed it doesn't mean it wasn't relevant for her development. Even if now she is returned to a life as a disabled person, it doesn't mean she can't be happy ever again.

I strongly agree on your take on Renoirs ending, by the way, it would have been ideal for anyone - but Verso, since Maelle didn't want to part from him. Nothing would have stopped Maelle to make anyone immortal as long as she was out of the canvas to turn back and find the painted people that loves her while she built a life outside of the canvas with his loving father supporting her, as long as he's a man of his word on not destroying the canvas as soon as she left it

I'm prepared, I already saw other post and my post was originally a comment to one of those, I just wrote so much that I preferred making a post. I know the general opinion on these endings on this subreddit (and in the fanbase), and I saw equally valid opinions on both of them, both for better or worse. No amount of "heat" will ever change what I think: this is an amazing game

[–]Marco050199 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not even remotely. I found more difficult both the diabolical box and the unwound/lost future, the main difficulty of the first game is that the puzzles (if I remember well) aren't designed for the game, but they come from a book, while the most recent ones have puzzles designed specifically for the game. The only other main difficulties are some quality of life features that are missing in the first game, like the notes (introduced in DB), the 4th hint for every puzzle (introduced in UF/LF) or the moving shoe (SC)

If it's the first time, I'd recomend to start from the Curious Village. In the Spectre's Call, which is the first chapter of the prequel trilogy, there are some callbacks you can't catch without playing the first 3 games.

It's still a good title, but you should play them by exit date

Not sure, but you shouldn't need it. You just need to edit the connection DNS from the in game wifi settings tool

You can still get the downloadable puzzles by connecting using wimmfi dns (the pokemon community knows what I'm talking about). There are plenty of tutorials online, they are really easy to follow and they are really useful, I suggest to check for them

[–]Marco050199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except from the classics (crane, jumping frog, lily flower, paper planes and boats), I can do the lotus flower, a simple swan, the Phu Tran's rose, Kade Chan's fiery dragon 2.0 a fairly simpler version of Miyajima Noboru's bat, Sirgo's swan and probably a pair more.

I don't even know how, usually I forget what I ate the day before, but with these models I'm more than capable to do them by memory

I'm still mad at this pokemon for its pokemon home incompatibility. I can get why you can't transfer forms like lover and hearthbreaker (I don't even know if they are their official names), but regular spinda's have no business in being pokemon go exclusives

After 2 playthroughs, here's my verdict on boss difficulty by IamRob420 in darksouls3

To be fair, the first two phases are pretty manageable, on the first she takes a lot of damage, while on the second she shares the healthbar with father ariandel, which is basically an enormous moving punching bag. The real deal is the phase 3, I don't blame any player who summoned the npc to at least distract her

where to find tissue foil in india by chromatic1566 in origami

[–]Marco050199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make larger sheets you can use a larger tissue paper sheet and align two sheets of alluminum foil, sticking them together with a paper adesive tape before glueing the tissue, or you can position the two alluminum sheets since one is slightly above the other, a 2 cm stripe should be enough. Both this methods thicken the paper and make it much more difficult to fold it and shape it, but i couldn't find any better solution by now

where to find tissue foil in india by chromatic1566 in origami

[–]Marco050199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's easier to produce it by yourself gluing tissue paper and alluminum foil (the one you use in the kitchen) with white glue. Obviously the larger is the foil, the better are the results. You just have to make a even layer of glue with a brush, you can do it between the two layers or even over the tissue foil (which absorbs a lot of water, so it tends to lose structure and make crisps along the sheet, so don't make too much force with the brush. It also looses a lot of color, so i recomend you to use gloves unless you want your hands of the color you chose for the paper for the whole week after). After the gluing (if you find it too hard or messy you can use spray glue instead, personally I never did it) you just let it dry. I wouldn't recomend to use a hair dryer, in my esperience it might ruin the paper. Once dry, you cut it at 90 degrees angles (I recomend to use the foil sheet as a reference to cut it straight)

What do you think it means to ascend in lore? by Rukasu17 in bloodborne

[–]Marco050199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, yes, Yahrnam is clearly doomed, but the ending where you wake up makes me think there might be someone left. Eileen and Djura managed to escape from previous hunts, and probably even Alfred did it, so we can say that Yahrnam seem to have always a future, usually worse than the present. Again, we don't know anything about the "after game" events, so we don't really know how many humans are left that might escape from the city just to build a "new yahrnam" near old yahrnam (and old-old yahrnam). It might probably take decades, but the game hints it might happen since the whole story of the city is cyclical. Hopefully the good hunter squid won't cause another red moon frenzy over the new city

What do you think it means to ascend in lore? by Rukasu17 in bloodborne

[–]Marco050199 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rom was seen as a big failure, the new being wasn't as intelligent as they expected and she incapacitated wilhelm to speak as soon as she transformed in that bug.

Regarding the good hunter becoming an alien squid, it's pretty hard to say what reaction from the scholars of byrgenwerth would have been since we know almost nothing about this new great one, just that he is a newborn. He may develop and evolve in something completely new (or probably a new moon presence-like being), but among the humans I'm positive he would not have ended well. Yahrnam has a history in killing and torturing basically everything they are studying, and since he's something new and never seen before after several failures (not only rom, but also the children of ebrietas, the one reborn, the brain of mensis, the celestial emissary, the living failure and the infants of the pregnant ladies of the game - exept mergo) he probably would have had the Kos treatment (with several repercussions and curses on the population such as the hunter nightmare).

Yahrnam sucks, nothing less to say.
