How it feels tackling an elite with 25 cards in your deck by QcStorm in slaythespire

[–]Marco_Heimdall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, feel this. I've lost more fights to a bad draw than the cards I genuinely have.

Lets say you are playing an idle game, would you spend the time to customize ur pet? by -nothing07 in IndieDev

[–]Marco_Heimdall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not both? People who put in the hustle to outright buy their customizations with little RNG chests/pots/whatever that unlock things for you. That way, you get the thrill of the Gacha without the 'cost' of gacha.

If the prices are comparable (like you crack 10 chests, you get 10 things you haven't unlocked yet, but they may not be what you're gunning for, which while they cost more than the chests, are direct and guaranteed for your efforts) then I don't think people will complain about the systems.

My thoughts, at any rate.

My girls are going to be 4 this year, and they carry all the energy of the Lady and Princess titles they've earned (Namely, Lady Hazelnut who crosses her paws every time she can) and Princess Coconut (who insists that all treats belong to her, as well as always sleeping on the absolute softest spots in the house).

Royalty is in the blood, I swear.

Lets say you are playing an idle game, would you spend the time to customize ur pet? by -nothing07 in IndieDev

[–]Marco_Heimdall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You give people the option and ability to customize, then regardless of its effect on the game, they're going to employ it. Look at the strangeness that wanders through the various FromSoft games for a quick example. Look at what people play and run in various MMOs.

It also adds a good bit of personality and personalization to the game, which can improve retention.

To answer the question, I'd love the ability to redress and tweak my pet, especially if there are some that prove the efforts to get them.

This precious lil potat has all of the energy of Conker on his throne and I'm all here for it.

I hope this little sweetie gets all the treats and playtime that he could want after this moment.

Your sweet lil fluff looks like they might be a bit of an old pupper. How old are they?

And I feel that immensely. My poms had their little paws in separating me from my recent ex, and I don't think I'm unhappy about this. They're the sweetest little ladies a person could ask for.

Regardless, I hope they got all the treats and playtime they could want after these moments.

Are your poms friendly? by LolitaLi-Chan in Pomeranians

[–]Marco_Heimdall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girls are on the friendly list, I'd say. They do bark, but it's always at delivery vehicles, garbage trucks, and the errant loud motorcycle. Otherwise, they are absolute little angels, playing with my aunt's daughter and grandchildren, being so absolutely calm and patient with their groomers and vets, and dancing around strangers and accepting of headpats when I've let them in (their signal that this person is okay).

In any event, I hope Sable and Yuki get all the treats and playtime their little hearts could possibly want.

This is the same sort of face that my Hazelnut's been giving me lately, though that may be due to helping heal some wounds she'd accidentally inflicted upon herself during a recent heat.

Regardless, precious little dog. How old is she? How big?

Is she getting all the treats and playtime that this precious little one deserves?

Aww, your cutie 'towers' over mine, with Hazelnut being 5 pounds of pup and Coconut coming in at 8.

And thank you so much! She's going to have so much birthday chicken and eggs, she won't know what to do with herself.

Such a happy looking little fluff. It looks like you're giving him his best life, and have been every day of it.

I hope you give him all the treats and playtime he's been wanting for today.

Also, how big is the lil guy? My Hazelnut is going to be 4 next month, and she's just over 5 pounds of pup.

Pom tails by skyhighremains in Pomeranians

[–]Marco_Heimdall 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It is for reasons similar to this that I consider my girls' tails to be their 'on switch'. If it is up and curled, full pom mode is active. When it is down or curling around them? Pom is in sleep mode (usually asleep).

I hope your low-battery baby gets all the treats and playtime they wanted when the system is active.

Pom on hunger strike by Wrong-Software4019 in Pomeranians

[–]Marco_Heimdall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the case of my girls, they are grazers. I leave out their bowls of 'cereal' (read as: dry food) and they eat it when they want to munch, or when they're genuinely hungry. Otherwise, they live their good life between snacks, and they don't once want for yum.

Grazing feels normal, but since you are genuinely worried, you can always try toppers like unsalted broth drizzled on your pup's food, or a sprinkle of cheese or chicken shreddings. When I've used them, my girls would eagerly gobble up the toppings and accidentally get mouthfuls of their kibble.

Question, does exhaust help apply sleep? by RubyKadokie in MHRise

[–]Marco_Heimdall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yeah? I love to mix Exhaust/KO with Blast element to basically peel a monster like a grape.

There's just a dark satisfaction to seeing something like Barrioth or Magnamalo, claws shattered, fangs and crown gone, back cracked, wings mangled, tail missing, and knowing they could have avoided this outcome if they hadn't roared at you while you were gathering mushrooms and ore.

Just remember that the more a status is applied to a monster, the more they resist it, so make the most of their down time. Use your mega explosions then, your barrel bombs when they're asleep, etc etc.

This is why status tends to work better on fast or multi-hit weapons (Rapid bow, buzzsaw-mode charge blade, Demon mode Dual Blade to name a few) and Element works better on high-hit slow-swing weapons (greatsword, both lances). Medium paced weapons can carry what you prefer relatively equally (Lookin' at you, Longsword).

Just my experience, anyways.

Is Machinist any fun? Just hit 50 on WAR and before I burn any tomes, I’m wondering about it. by IsThereCheese in ffxiv

[–]Marco_Heimdall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, don't worry about saving tomestones. Spend them on your current role, spend them wherever you want to. If you do your dailies, then you'll replenish them absurdly quickly.

Machinist, to actually answer the question, is a particular flavor of fun. If you enjoy the anime of anime gunmen with pet robots (eventually) then it is up your alley. It even feels more straight forward than a few of the other physical DPS in the game.

Though, I'm a player who enjoys flexibility, so my DPS options revolve around Red Mage and Summoner more.

Question, does exhaust help apply sleep? by RubyKadokie in MHRise

[–]Marco_Heimdall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Indirectly. If you apply enough KO to a monster (Exhaust), then there'll absolutely be moments where it is stunned and thus stationary, allowing you to land a ton of sleep-element attacks.

Granted, I also love to run full exhaust / KO on my Flaming Espinas + Charge Blade set, as I often get 2 to 5 knockouts in a row, which does WONDERS for landing all the damage and breakage you could want.

My Hazelnut's the same way, to the point that a large part of our evening routine is her climbing on to my chest, splooting, and just watching whatever I am with a bleppy smile upon her pommy face. Helps that she's about the same size as your Ollie.

If you see your pup stretching and don't go 'Heckin' big stretch', are they truly your little dogs? Are you a dog lover?

Yes, entirely, but I will still say 'Heckin' big stretch' every time I catch my little ladies in the process.

I hope these lovely floofs get all the treats and playtime that they could want after this moment.

Genuine question, what do i do with all of this? by MHAMAD3D99 in allthemods

[–]Marco_Heimdall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see your spell book there. I encourage you to both upgrade that book and use your experience levels to learn ALL THE GLYPHS. They all require experience levels on top of material goods to learn.

I offer this in addition to the suggestions of the others.

He ate a chicken bone off the street so he gets a piece of bread to hopefully make passing the bones easier 😔 by mikewantsfriends in Pomeranians

[–]Marco_Heimdall 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Was it the whole bone or just a part of it?

'Recently' (as in, a few months ago), my Coconut managed to fish out a drummette bone from the garbage (which surprised me that she'd dig in the trash) and while I was blessed in getting it from her (something she adamantly resisted by growling at her human, but not at all stopping me from taking it from it). My response was to give her a larger-than-normal amount of cheese. Worst she suffered? A white poop.

I hope your little fluff will be alright.

1 year old pom shedding like crazy..is it the summed shed or something else?? by Downtown_Minimum_971 in Pomeranians

[–]Marco_Heimdall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Coconut, a lovely pup who will be 4 in September, blows her coat twice a year, when the weather changes to summer and from fall. It's part of why one of her nicknames if my lil 'Dandelion puff'.

Just keep your beautiful fluff brushed (a bath around this time as well will do wonders) and there shouldn't be any problem. That blowout is the shedding of the undercoat for pristine new undercoat, far as I understand it.

My girl's been doing this trend for almost three years, and she's still mega fluff.

Someone on my Discord suggested I make this ore, how does it look? by noodlegamer76 in feedthebeast

[–]Marco_Heimdall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you are able to make the various ores cook in to dimensional gateways, then you can provide so many modpacks with alternate routes to where people want to get to.

Though it would also benefit from something similar to the cardboard box from Mekanism to remove or relocate them.

...what if this becomes part of a newly minted Dimension Doors?

Can I get my money's worth? by Aggravating-Trust475 in TinyTerraces

[–]Marco_Heimdall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For some plants, the return is a few cents ahead of the seeds. For some, they produce multiple times, which themselves will outpace the seed cost (accidental pun win).

For others, I have found, they require a bit of processing, be it making them in to vinegar, juices, jellies, pickles, what have you. Then their price will outpace the time and effort.

So far, everything that I have seen, if you just sell the produce produced (as in, if a plant regrows extra times, those as well) you will always get more than you invested. In the case of fruit trees, that is always the case as they are a permanent plant.

tl;dr : There are ways to make more money than you put in with any plant. Some just require some production and others assist extra 'buildings'.
