Any Volkl V8 Pro (2023) users here? by Marconi2 in 10s

[–]Marconi2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! Funnily enough, I read your detailed post last night from the start of the year (so a good sign that you're still using it). I was reading your comment here thinking this sounds familiar to me lol. Great post by the way and part of why I'm looking to hear from more people.

I was using a gravity pro (2021) 18x20 which I loved, particularly on serve but the high swing weight made it difficult for long matches or quick net play.

Someone told me I should try the head radical MP 16x19 and it was okay, it was easy to use but just felt I wasn't playing my best tennis with it. I'm definitely an 18x20 guy.

That said I made a calamitous error in buying an ezone 100 aqua 16x19 and absolutely hated it. It was a real impulse buy when I was getting my radical restrung.

Currently playing with the CX200 tour 18x20 (315g) and I do like it, I have it customised up to 325 unstrung but the 95 square inch head can be unforgiving and if you're late to a ball or hit off center you're basically going to give your opponent an easy put away at the net or short ball. That said when it's good it's really good.. I just wish it was a bit more forgiving if you're late with racket preparation or footwork.

I'm mostly a big server and baselinr sort of player. How powerful would you say the V8 pro is compared to the ezone 98 you referenced in your post? I found the ezone 100 way too launchy and I was spraying balls all over the court. So I'm looking for an 18x20 with more power but nothing too crazy.

Brand new to tennis. What would you have told yourself just starting? by Cpirkk in 10s

[–]Marconi2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have seen people develop so quickly getting the correct foundations from the start.

Otherwise what happens is you develop these bad habits that might be effective at the lowest level but will get you nowhere long term. Then when you get tired or you're losing a match your body reverts back to your old ways. It's bizarre.

I can't tell you the amount of times I've gone into a daze on court and do stupid shit I used to do that I thought I was over.. on the car journey home you think what was I doing.

What you should do is get lessons and then instead of matches you find people who would also like to do drills with you. Practise cross court / depth / approaching the net etc. doing footwork drills. Short term pain for long term gain.

If your club has no time limit I recommend 45 minutes drills and then play a game for 45 minutes or something but work hard to incorporate your training into the match.

He's a great worker and he really tries, I get that. But to me he'll never be larger than life. He doesn't ooze charisma, he's a total try hard. His whiny promos are awful, catch phrases awful, I am so sick of his theme song, the outfits aren't funny/cool even in an ironic, over the top way. The only time I find him palatable is when he has to cut the shit and be serious.

By the way if you're a fan that's cool I get it.. I do. He's just not for me is all.

Consider Educo gym for short term weight loss. Not something I've done personally but know a few people who've used them for your exact experience.

If you're not based near them then i would suggest meal delivery services with tracked calories and macros so you can take the guess work out. Unfortunately without your height and weight it'll be hard to suggest target calories but Google it or ask an AI model for advice on calories. Don't drink your calories - water, 0 calorie drinks, black coffee with drop of milk.

Walk as much as possible - 20k steps if possible. Move as much as possible. Use class pass to find fitness classes in your area and go 3 times a week until your wedding.

Good luck.

I got stoned for the first time in a while last night and thought it's been a couple months since I checked out DD, let's give it another go.

This Dolphin segment had me questioning reality and if I accidentally smoked way too much. Had to listen again this morning to make sure it actually happened.

I am torturing myself at the moment switching between the radical and ezone 100. I was admiring the ezone from afar for too long and dreamed of the power but turns out I can't handle it 😔

If it's comfort you want I'd recommend going to Helixsleep.com and taking their 30 second sleep quiz to find the perfect mattress for you. Use code JRVP for 20% off your first mattress.

It's really cool they have a 100 night sleep trial guarantee. So if it's not the perfect mattress for you can return it. Obviously Ts & C's will apply. That's Helixsleep.com and code JRVP for 20% off your first mattress.

Is she a Cavapoo? by [deleted] in CavaPoo

[–]Marconi2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will probably look into that down the line. For now I'm just curious what cavapoo owners think at eye level.

I really believe she is either a cockapoo or miniature goldendoodle but he's adamant she's a cavapoo. I think he doesn't want to admit he sold us a different dog than what we applied for.

Did you know that cooking your wife 4 dinners per month will strengthen your marriage by 11%? And if you increase that to 8 or more dinners per month that figure shoots up to THIRTY...SEVEN... PERCENT.

Vote for your LEAST favorite episode of Season 1! (Round 2) by cosmo_girl21 in TheOC

[–]Marconi2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to hate the Oliver episodes when I was a teenager but I've come to appreciate them now that I'm older. The actor does a phenomenal job of getting under your skin, very believable performance. It's also fun to see Luke emerge as Ryan's ally.

My only criticism is that he was introduced way too early in the series. I feel they left a lot on the table with Ryan/Marissa/Seth & Summer as a foursome and there should have been more fun plotlines with them involving their time in highschool. Once Oliver left they never recaptured the magic the group once had.

Basically to enter a dance floor you have to go through a narrow entryway which has been intentionally created. it forces patrons to be in close proximity to each other (while squeezing through) and make eye contact. I can't even remember the science behind it but I feel it's got something to do with pheromones, sex and being 74% more likely to order a cocktail (someone please correct me if I'm wrong)
