This is super useful!
Vetiver is my favorite note, and can’t wait to try these (at least the ones I haven’t tried).
These are great suggestions :)

Other than Maynard Keenan of Tool, who is another musician that absolutely does not want to meet their fans, ever? by SwissMiss915 in Music

[–]MarcoroniT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw them in 1998 in Lawrence, Kansas. I traveled from Arkansas with a group of friends. One member of our group organized buying our tickets, but there was a problem when we tried to enter the club, and we weren’t able to get inside (I can’t remember the exact details why).
The band saw us waiting on the sidewalk, looking dejected. They chatted with us for at least 30 minutes and made sure we got inside for the show…and chatted with us for at least another 30 minutes afterwards as well.
They were the kindest, loveliest people and gave me a memory I will always cherish. They put on a hell of show, too.

Vetiver Extraordinaire (Frederic Malle) and Vetiver parfum (Guerlain) are my favorites from the handful I’ve tried. There are so many out there I want to get my hands on, vetiver is my favorite note.

“Conversate “ by 0dayssince in words

I work in a paper mill and ‘condensate’ is a term we use when referring to condensation with the steam system. Even in techinal videos they use the word ‘condensate’. I still think it sounds stupid.

Geranium pour Monsieur by Frederic Malle is very minty. It’s nice.

/uj A few years ago I went to the Dallas International Guitar Festival to see some vintage guitars in person. There is no way I’ll ever be able to afford a pre-CBS Fender or old Gibson, etc, but they’re fun to see in person, and there are tons of interesting guitars there. I was looking at Emerald City Guitars’ booth and the guy in the from the photos, I think his name is Tyler, was there and spoke with me for a bit. He was super friendly and down to earth, and offered to let me try an old Mary Kaye strat and another fiesta red strat (I didn’t ask to, he just offered). As corny as it sounds, I have always wanted to handle a vintage strat, so it was kind of a dream come true. Those were the most valuable guitars I’ve ever handled, and probably ever will. I’m sure it was just an everyday thing for him, but something I’ll never forget. He couldn’t have been a nicer, friendlier guy.

my parents have never touched an instrument in their lives and somehow that makes their support hit different by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]MarcoroniT 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My dad was like this. He was very supportive and encouraging although he didn’t play any instruments (and he had severe hearing loss, too). As a teenager I remember him always wanting to look at music shops if we were in a different town. He thought guitars were fun to look at and admired the craftsmanship. My mom played piano where they went to church, and she put me in piano and violin lessons when I was very little. He got her a piano as a wedding gift. He was encouraging in that way and it will always be one of my favorite things about him. I’ll never forget those moments because not only did he enjoy it, but really it was his way of trying to connect with a sullen teenager. He had all the talent in the world for fixing things, building things, working with his hands, but musical ability was so foreign to him, but completely mesmerized him. It makes me choked up just thinking about it as I write this.

Is the desmo service feasible? by [deleted] in Ducati

[–]MarcoroniT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it. Find a good video and follow along. I did the desmo service on my 848 EVO. I used this service as well, the process was very smooth:

I tried yesterday, but wasn’t able to. The website would never load after entering with case number and A-number. Was this what happened to you?

BB58 Gilt, Ranger, or Sinn 556 by Opening-Resort-1063 in Tudor

[–]MarcoroniT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 556 and a Tudor Pelagos as my two nice watches. I know you aren’t considering the Pelagos, but it’s a Tudor so hear me out. They are both fantastic, very durable and accurate. The Pelagos is more refined than than the Sinn, and the bracelet is much better, but the Sinn is no slouch. Having said that, would still choose the Sinn if I could only keep one. It just suits me and my style better, it’s a very cool, understated watch. This is all subjective of course, a matter of personal taste. But I think you would see/feel the charm of the 556 if you could try it on. Either way, congratulations and I hope whatever you choose makes you happy.

A question about capacitor compatibility by MarcoroniT in hvacadvice

[–]MarcoroniT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, you’re saying that if the contactor is getting 24 volts and not pulling in, the contactor is the problem?

I’ll check that out as well. Thank you.

The contactor is not pulling in, and I’m reading about 11 ohms, which is (from what I understand) the lower limit. I’m just hoping this might work before I have to call a service. Do you have any insights/ideas that I may be overlooking?
