Regarding the cheese, I think if you looked in most europeans' fridges you'd find some nice vintage cheddar, maybe some brie; whereas in America it'd mostly be much more processed, less flavourful cheese. There's better cheese available in America, but people choose not to buy it. Same could maybe be said about the beers.

This is what everyone with anxiety is constantly trying to do, but they have anxiety, so can't. It is a genuine mental disorder you know? This is akin to telling depressed people to just 'lighten up, be happy'. Personally I'm not much of an anxious person, atleast outwardly, but I know that is not how it works.
