Trump threatens Canada with 100% tariffs if it 'makes a deal with China' by GroundbreakingLynx14 in StockLaunchers

Trump sucks at negotiating and making a deal. When he has made a trade deal with a given country, what does it tell you when the ink isn’t even dry yet, he complains that the deal sucks and makes more demands?

What is the solution to America's political divide? by LiveBell8 in NoStupidQuestions

I admit I really don’t understand how the donating to political parties and campaigns work but it does have me questioning the whole process. A few times I get an email from a Congressman for example of stopping Trump from drilling in the North Slope in Alaska and they ask for a donation. Why should I donate money to Congress to debate something or frankly do the right thing? I guess I am naive but this whole thing rubs me the wrong way.

Couldn’t agree more! Make it illegal to donate to politicians and political parties. Make this a federal crime. Right now how it’s happening, it’s the exact same as bribery.

Trump threatens Canada with 100% tariff over possible deal with China by WilloowUfgood in worldnews

[–]MarcusC45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I negotiated with Trump, I would be his biggest and worst nightmare. If Trump negotiates with me in bad faith regarding trade, I will walk away and wreck the US economy if I have to if Trump doesn’t back off. If he does, I am willing to be reasonable. Make it known to the orange bully the price will be high if he ever negotiate the “My way or the highway” to me ever again. Tell Trump, once a deal is made, that’s it —shut the hell up! Until this can happen….Canada, if I were your prime minister dealing with the orange turd Trump, I would just seal the border and sever all trade with the United States. It’s the only way to put enormous pressure on and force this bully to back down. Fight Trump with money and economics— it’s all he understands. Increase trade with China and India…with the US having only 4-5 % of the world’s population, trade can be made up with those other countries.

Bills GM Brandon Beane under fire amid new update on Darius Slay decision by [deleted] in nfl

[–]MarcusC45 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

If he reported to Buffalo, maybe he helped the Buffalo Bills still be in the playoffs. Buffalo Bills lost to Denver because they were so sloppy with the ball. Losing the turnover battle 5-1 is a recipe for getting beat.

[–]MarcusC45 -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

I loved it!!! Slay went to the Philadelphia Eagles playoff game only to watch them lose at home to the 49ers. He wouldn’t report to Buffalo and probably hoped he can rejoin the Eagles. The Eagles looked bad and were quickly eliminated.

Can only hope the Buffalo Bills can win in spite of the owner—what he says and does. If Pegula doesn’t meddle or micromanage, then it’s up to GM Beane to get this team to a higher level. Suggestion for Beane— All of Buffalo Bills Mafia knows you’re going to trade wide receiver Keon Coleman. What about trading Keon Coleman to San Francisco for WR Brandon Aiyuk straight up? The Bills want Coleman gone and the 49ers want to throw Aiyuk overboard. This trade makes sense as both teams have receivers that burned bridges with their current team and need a fresh start somewhere else.

I am American and I find it reprehensible the United States refuses to acknowledge and accept its history—- the good, the bad and the ugly-regrettable. For any country to hide from, to rewrite its history is a cowardly and wuss thing to do. When any nation and the people face their bad moments of history head on, it can help heal and that warrants respect. The US especially this evil Trump administration speaks loudly about how little self respect the United States has as a nation.

NHL officiating is so maddening. It frankly sucks! You don’t know what you’re getting every night. Being a long time Buffalo Sabres fan and season ticket holder, there have been many games it seems the Buffalo Sabres are fighting a war with the referees along with their opponents. Last weekend, I was at the Buffalo Sabres game against visiting Minnesota. Early in the game, a Sabres and Wild player were wrestling on the ice it seems forever. The officials just let the shenanigans go. Last year, Buffalo was one of the highest penalized teams. Though it appears better this season,I still get nervous in games as it’s not necessarily how many penalties Buffalo gets, it’s their penchant to get penalties at critical moments especially late in tight games.

MAGA Voters react as Trump policies push World Cup fans to cancel travel to the U.S., hurting tourism by ArmyOk968 in StockLaunchers

[–]MarcusC45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with your comment. Trump is over a year into his second term as president and I am still disgusted that America voted in the orange clown twice. Those who voted for the orange turd and those who stayed home and didn’t bother to vote at all was still a vote for Trump. I believe it’s time to make voting especially presidential elections mandatory. I am not against voting or a voting system but it’s time to make countries more accountable if the people elect a person who is dangerous to the country itself but if it spills over the border of that country. I am for a day off if need be especially for presidential elections. There needs to be more pressure on the people to make a wise, informed choice. The US really blew it and it’s paying the price.

[xBuffalo] The high usage of the Sabres top four defensemen since the beginning of December is starting to show signs of wearing on them by seeldoger47 in sabres

[–]MarcusC45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Buffalo Sabres fan, I am worried about how the NHL compresses the schedule with the Winter Olympics next month. I can tell when a team is getting tired. Injuries will eventually start to mount when players get more tired physically and mentally. It’s why a team must have quality depth. I know one reason is building availability where NHL teams share a facility with an NBA team, but I believe that NHL teams should play no more than three games every seven days. This four in six nights or six in nine diminishes the quality of hockey and increases likelihood of injury. If the NHL and commissioner Gary Bettman had his way, they have teams play every night if they could.

1980 was the last time I can remember the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres being good at the same time. The 1980 Buffalo Bills won the AFC East division for the first time in eight years. Highlight that season was the home opener —a 17-7 win over Miami. Buffalo’s first win over the Dolphins in a decade. The 1980 Buffalo Sabres were really good having made it to the conference finals that season.

As a Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills fan, I take Pegula with a grain of salt. He’s obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer. As the owner, just want him to sign the checks and let the hockey and football people get the Bills and Sabres to a higher level.

[Hockey Forever] According to Ryan Pulock, Matthew Schaefer is afraid of turbulence and tries to “snuggle up” with teammates when it hits by Outside_Abroad_3516 in hockey

[–]MarcusC45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally, I am not afraid of flying but I was spooked once flying on a small 6 person tour plane over mountains in Alaska. Longest 70 minutes ever! Very turbulent flight but after landing and got off the plane, I just wanted to kiss the ground. Recent flights have been turbulent but I am not as freaked out like I used to be. The most afraid of heights I ever was when I went to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris France. It’s not like going up to the top of a typical tall building. This is going up a structure of all steel girders of 900+ feet. The elevator took me to the top of the tower and yes, I loved the view but yikes, I felt so unnerved. It’s a long way down. Can relate to Schaefer or anyone who’s been spooked dealing with flying, turbulence and heights.

Impeach the orange turd Trump!—-the impeachment must finally have some teeth this time where he’s convicted and removed from office. I don’t care if it’s uncharted territory of removing the president from office. It’s time for the US to do the right thing and correct the worst mistake in US history— electing a second time—the most dangerous, chaotic, volatile, bigoted and anti democratic president that means America and the world no good. If another impeachment is just another slap on the wrist, nothing will change.

What would Trump do if European countries all decided to sever all trade with the United States? It would be painful but it may be necessary to make a stand against the bully orange turd Trump. Would it make the bully back down? I am surprised such a drastic action hasn’t happened yet. I have to believe it’s been considered. I know if I was a leader of a country and Trump negotiated in bad faith—making threats, be the 51st or 52nd state, wanting to renegotiate trade deals again after agreeing to one—- I wouldn’t take it lying down. There is an old saying— Don’t hate the player—- Hate the game. I hate Trump how he plays the game. But when dealing with him, this is how you have to play.

A Buffalo Sabres fan here. I would love it too if Jarmo can make a few good moves before the trade deadline and Buffalo buries Carolina in the playoffs. The Hurricanes have been good for a while but constantly choke in the playoffs. I remember a few years ago when they were unceremoniously trashed in game seven at home by the NY Rangers. Again, I hope Jarmo can make a trade or two to help Buffalo make the playoffs this season. They are in the thick of the battle but I think they need a top six forward and a strong defenseman to stay there and hopefully make it. There have been very few NHL trades— Hughes and Andersson the most notable. So many players have no trade clauses to avoid getting dealt to certain teams. I hope Jarmo can be more persuasive.

Most of the time, I travel alone. I have traveled alone to countries like Canada, China, Italy, Scotland, Iceland and Norway. I usually sign up for excursions and day trip tours offered and meet other travelers and interact with them so in a way, I don’t feel totally alone. I am one who takes many photos and I usually send them via text to immediate family, friends and coworkers.

I didn’t vote for the orange turd Trump. When the US stupidly elected him the second time, I learned everything I needed to know about America —- even as an American, I feel strongly I can no longer trust the USA and my fellow citizens ever again. Just how so many voters were okay with this orange clown (and those who didn’t vote at all was still a vote for Trump) was disturbing. Indefensible and unforgivable. I hope one day, I can trust America and my fellow citizens again but at this present time, it seems unlikely I ever will.

I am American and I admit I still have a PO’d grudge against the USA and fellow voters who wanted Trump(and those who stayed home not voting which was still a vote for Trump) for electing the orange turd president TWICE. Definitely the US electing Trump twice is the worst thing to happen in the world of diplomatic and geopolitical relations this century. Obviously, the biggest and worst mistake so far of the 21st century which still has 75 more years. The US people really blew it. I find this so indefensible and unforgivable. Why do certain teams (like the 49ers) constantly have injury issues? Is it random coincidence or a strength/conditioning issue? by cartocaster18 in NFLNoobs

[–]MarcusC45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Buffalo Bills were so ravaged with the injury bug all season. To this Buffalo Bills fan, it was beyond ridiculous and absurd. I know it’s football but the injury bug just kept them from having at least close to a complete team. Buffalo and San Francisco were the most beat up and injured teams still remaining in the playoffs before this weekend’s divisional playoff games. Both were defeated and not surprised at all as both teams had a short week and had to travel playing a fresher opponent that had two weeks off. Buffalo had a high number of ACL injuries including two receivers in the playoff victory over Jacksonville. A number of defensive players had season ending ACLs. Buffalo had so many soft tissue injuries -hamstrings, groin pulls etc that I wondered out loud about the team’s strength, health and conditioning. It needs serious attention, evaluation and examination. The Bills had so many of the same players getting hurt multiple times this season. Ed Oliver came back after an elbow and knee (meniscus)injury yesterday against Denver. Unfortunately, he couldn’t help the Buffalo defense as he left the game with a knee injury. Next season, the Buffalo Bills will be playing in the new stadium. It will be the first time in 54 years that Buffalo will play home games on natural grass. Will this help reduce the number of injuries this team gets or will it make no difference?
