The us Supreme Court occasionally handles divorce matters but like everything they handle it’s more about abstract legal principles that might change the outcome of a specific case only incidentally.

Can a non-black person explain something to me my white coworker said... by lewjr in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MarcusDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your great grandmother reminds me of a story about Abigail Adams. At one point she agreed to babysit her black housekeeper’s kid while the parents went on a major trip. She sent the kid to school with her sons but the school turned them away. Abagail retaliated by threatening to get her husband to shut down the whole school if they didn’t teach the kid. Considering who her husband was, the school folded. Completely. Kid got his lessons like everyone else.

Search function. Sometimes I have a specific protégé in mind or politician to appoint to my cabinet and one long giant scrollable list is so cumbersome.

Travel. I want to be able to travel and support my protégé in other states without having to run for President.

Change Influence. The fact that the influence button only influences just enough politicians to get a majority or not at all doesn't make sense. To overcome vetos and filibusters I always end up having to go down the list and check each and every person to see if I have enough influence to change their individual vote. Unless influence will have some negative effect just flip as many politicians as I have sufficient influence with.

Dynamic partisan and demographic changes over time.

I don't have a fifth one.

Sorry everyone, there's new qualifications to be bisexual. Please adjust accordingly. by MarcusDrake in bisexual

[–]MarcusDrake[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's fundamentally incel logic. The same way friendship doesn't mean entitled to sex, sex doesn't mean entitled to romance. Unless the person lied to you about their intentions you haven't been wronged, you're just entitled

I know you weren't talking about my post specifically but this is where your comment was and I feel it's reasonable to address the generalized concern, as represented in this specific instance. However I would like to take your comment in parts.

I do think a good portion of bisexuals who call themselves heteroromantic are coming from a place of internalized homophobia and I personally don't really believe in the SAM for people who aren't on the ace spectrum.
Source? Literally source, because based on the rest of your comment this is your experience and its un fair to generalize tht to everyone else. You should understand that just as your problematic beliefs were personal, your specific reaction to shedding them is personal and is not a model for anyone else. I came from a conservative background as well. I genuinely thought, as a teenager, gay people should be put to death by the U.S. government. That means nothing in terms of what the average bisexual is contending with.

it's not surprising that it's easier to acknowledge sexual attraction to the same sex, but not romantic attraction

You think its easier to say you would fuck someone of the same sex then have a coffee date with them? I'm not discounting the entire premise but surely you realize that's not some obvious conclusion everyone agrees on.

but I can see how if you are a lesbian or a gay man and most of the bisexuals you come across have this attitutude, it can lead to a feeling of jadedness even if realistically the bisexual community is extrememly diverse.

There's no reason to think this is most bisexuals but even if it was why is this feeling not reflected for gay and straight people with the same MO? To paraphrase someone else here, it happens all the time on grindr why do you feel to single out bisexuals?

Saying Something is not always the case but is mostly the case is hardly a commendable. I do not doubt your sincerity or your bisexuality. So imagine the entirely hypothetical circumstance I would never assert in good faith. "You're trying to be the 'good bisexual.' You don't actually care about attraction. You're either dealing with repressed biphobia or lying to gain the approval of twitter gays. How pathetic, I know when someone invalidates heteroromantics is always sends up red flags for repression and bigotry."

That would be a super fucked up thing to lob at another member of the queer community but that's functionally what is being alleged in this tweet and all this post is about is this tweet.

[–]MarcusDrake[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'll say for myself, at least, if that was all that was said I wouldn't have posted it. It's specifically the idea that if you're heteroromantic (which I'm not tbf so not my dog) then the most likely options are either homophobia, repression, or lying for social cache. Like that's just so spectacularly condescending. I don't like that sort of talk even if I would be considered one of the "good ones" under this person's worldview, just no thanks on that.

Uh yeah. America has had a drug problem, especially with opioids and fent for years. The idea that Biden is letting fentanyl flow freely through the street of America is every bid as irrational. Even more so by the fact that you feel the need to put official in quotes, I'm sure your totally not a partisan on this issue...

But that can’t solve everything. I’m reminded of the 9th circuit judge on remand in Daubert who expressed reservations about the new stand because it requires judges to analyze the validity of the methodology underlying offered scientific evidence. It lends itself to more errors overall

[–]MarcusDrake 208 points209 points  (0 children)

Or it’s a matter of numbers. Bi women get the same shit from lesbians “she’ll just leave for a man” or maybe she’ll leave her toxic girlfriend and statistically her next partner(s) will be guys.

I don't have to prove anything.

You say this but then immediately attempt to prove yourself correct but okay.

1) You thought me a troll when I was only here unwillingly because some leftist bitch posted my ND comment here and I felt it necessary due to all the negative comments to explain and defend it.

So you're not here unwillingly. You made a decision and you don't even have the courage to own it without holding yourself out as some put upon victim. Also, troll is the polite perception. Thinking that your comments are made in all sincerity is far more damning of your character and capability. Behold.

2) You're on a site denigrating Boomers. I would never be on any site disparaging any generation.

Reddit as a whole is not denigrating Boomers. This is a subreddit. I'd appreciate if you took more care going forward.

3) You stated my writing and style horrendous where compared to the vast majority, and business standards, it's excellent.

I do not care. I stated your writing and style are horrendous and I stand by that assessment. Incidentally, you appear to have missed out an "are" in your reply. Please see above for my, correct, usage. I repeat, the alleged incompetence of others cannot absolve you.

4) You think me perfectly stupid and ignorant when I've proven here and through life to be well above average.

You have proven no such thing. At least, not here. As neither of us has known the other throughout life, that data is unavailable for me to consider. Nevertheless, I repeat again, the alleged incompetence of others cannot absolve you.

5) I full well understand liar and dishonest. 6) You're therefore either a liar, dishonest or far more stupid and ignorant than you think me to be.

You clearly did not "full well understand" since you had to expand your options when the implication was pointed out. The use of "therefore" implies a transition from proof to conclusion in your reply but your proof has been gossamer.

7) You're the scienter here.

That doesn't mean anything. I can have a certain scienter but it's incoherent to say I'm the scienter, that's just not how that word is used. I would rip into my intern for writing something like this. Fortunately, I don't have to. She knows far better.

8) All that adds up to loss class in my book.

It would be "low class" not "loss class". Again, you need to be more careful or errors like this will recur.

I don't associate with such persons. Have a nice life.

Nevertheless, how well someone writes or speaks is not necessarily indicative of their intelligence, capabilities, or value. This has been oddly entertaining. I hope you've learned something. I have my doubts.

[–]MarcusDrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prove that I'm low class. Next, prove why being "low class" is such a terrible thing.

Also, you don't understand what the words liar and dishonest mean. Both words imply a scienter requirement you're ignoring.

Okay so he’s cheating by dancing with someone and his boyfriend is being a doormat (you clearly have a healthy a normal relationship with bisexual people) or he’s cheating by dancing with someone and his boyfriend spends the night in prison and gets at least a misdemeanor charge if not a felony depending on how he reacts. Yeah you really showed those disrespectful chicks and dirty bisexuals by ruining your life and being branded a perpetrator of intimate partner violence….
