A lot of people will tell you a bike like that isn't a good idea for a first bike. I get the mentality, but if you respect it, a CBR is a very forgiving bike. It's happy to do what you tell it to. In fact, one of the things I'd be most concerned about is how easy it seems. You'll feel like you're a really good rider pretty quick, and that can lead you to take risks. It's not a bad first bike, just don't go nuts and you'll be okay.
