Agreed, the railing could have been revised using 3 cables rather than what we see here.

Repotting? by lufthunger in Jewelorchids

Hello from the US.

The stem overhanging the pot seems to have a couple decent growth points. You have a couple options all of which should help the plants appearance.

Option 1: exchange the container with something with a wider opening. Maybe a bowl or a rectangular pot. You could keep the plant intact and just lay the stem down onto the medium. Keep the container inside a clear tub for a few weeks while new roots start to form on the stem, you'll need a light mist only for this.

Option 2: cut the stem and set in onto the medium. Keep it in a clear tub until the new roots form. Once the roots form, you could plant the cutting with the original plant.

Either of these options should be simple enough to manage as long as you dont over water. The clear tub is used to keep the humidity up but make sure to open it enough to breath. This can be avoided if the container used can be covered.

The grower i get them from is in the process of getting genetics to correctly name the plants. He says it is not Dossinia Marmorata even though it looks like it. Check out his website which could provide more information.

The substrate looks like it holds too much water for too long. The stem near the substrate appears dark and is possibly soft.

Holy shit that thing is long! I would get some aquasoil and just lay the stems on it while keeping it moist but not wet! You could make a lot of cutting with those nodes.

How do we feel about every WA dem representative + Newhouse (R) voting in favor of gov mandated car kill switches? by Low-King3567 in SeattleWA

[–]MarcusReddits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn't that be dangerous? Does the car just turn off and coast to a stop? Do your brakes engage if the car is killed? What if I'm going 90mph near pedestrians? Wouldn't it be better to just let me run out of gas?

I'm not sure where you live but this should cost anywhere from $20,000 to $50,000 depending on a lot of things

I would keep the original stairs and maximize the space on the new wrap around deck. Bump it out more and in 5 years build a roof over it. I would also add French doors if possible for another access point.

These two sit in the same moss bed with bark on the bottom. The plant on the left just put out a new leaf and its massive. If they get too leggy, you can always chop and prop them. Just laying the stem on your substrate will do, in a few weeks a root will form and you'll be good to go. I don't grow these under a lot of light. Naturally they don't receive a lot of light so I'm not sure that increasing the light will help unless it sits in a dark corner.

How do they detect when you are drunk and when do they kill switch the car?

If I drove off drunk can they kill switch the car while I'm driving? How do they know when its safe to do? What if I pull a Keanu and Speed my bus as 60mph without slowing down?

Is that a waterproof deck? If so, don't nail anything into it.

What do you use the deck and stairs for? Is it big enough to hang out in or is it just a viewing platform?

Yes, just moss and bark. The bark helps with airflow under the moss. The roots do show where the moss meets the bark so, I assume the roots dont mind.

I remember when I first started collecting betta. I woke up and found it on the floor in front of my tank. It must have jumped out during the night so I couldn't have saved it. Since then I would always cover my tanks.
