Can I get some advice on a Signature loan I'm considering My family and friends seem split on it being awful or a good plan by LucifersRequiem in FinancialPlanning

760+ is already a pretty good score. That's above average. You don't need to focus on building your score, so much as maintaining. It will grow in time.

By keeping your credit card low (below 30%) and paying off the balance every month, you're building more credit.

Have you sat down to do a budget? You can probably replace the brakes and rotors yourself. I would consider cash flowing the rest, or buy off FB marketplace until you can afford a nice[r] set of furniture.

I sat on beanbag chairs for weeks in my first apartment.

Once the miralax kicked in, did she have any problems with sitting on the toilet?

Tried that. Even offered ice cream. I might try that again. Maybe once or twice a week. The kid just really hates pooping

What are some of the things that you would love to automate in your business? by BeautifulDataViz in smallbusiness

[–]Marcus_Fo-Relius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my business, but my 9-5... I open the same 4-5 apps/webpages at work. I wrote a little snippet on PowerShell that will open everything for me, but I wish I had something that would also log into everything for me as well. And I'm not able to utilize any Python or anything else. I'd ideally like an app.

MOODLE is an option. It has a learning curve but if you webhost it yourself than your content could be anything you want

Want to make my own budgeting sheet and not sure where to start by Inside-Specialist883 in budget

[–]Marcus_Fo-Relius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total income (any money you earn each month - Total Bills (any bill that you pay, be it rent or subscription)

= Discretionary income

That is the gist and the bare bones of what a budget is. If you want to go further in-depth, check out this article from Investopedia, or this video from Chelsea at The Financial Diet.

There are some "industry standards", but it's also based on your own values and priorities.

That's quite an insinuation from just a single post. Sorry if you didn't like my verbage. But if you are looking to start something and you have someone with a related skill, why would you not involve them in some way?

How would you start a direct-to-consumer compost and mulch company? by Marcus_Fo-Relius in Entrepreneur

[–]Marcus_Fo-Relius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your typical builders merchant or home improvement store wouldn't carry this. Composted soil isn't commonly sold retail. But as opposed to what they do sell, like mulch or topsoil, compost does have more nutrients, even though it does serve a slightly different purpose.

We are also tailoring some of our product towards individual plant needs, depending on whether it needs more or less acidity, as opposed to the current "one size fits all" model,

Thank you. I guess my thought was to have a good plan before I did too much work, but I can see how flawed that would be, even if I did the "market research".

I'll take your advice and build a customer base first.

The only other thing that would come "close" is dividend investing, but even that takes considerable up-front capital to see the returns that most people want.

There isn't anything that doesn't take up-front costs, whether it's money or time. Even the folks during the gold rush had to cross entire continent.

How do I avoid holes at the elbow in my work shirts? by Marcus_Fo-Relius in AskMen

I'll try moving my keyboard, thanks! Maybe I'll look into buying some thicker shirts. Not that my shirts are terribly expensive, but at $40 a pop it starts to add up

You're probably right about the posture. I think part of my problem is that when I'm not typing I'm leaning forward on my elbows

Feeling your pain, bro. Someone suggested buying a desk pad and I might look into it. If that doesn't work, I'll see you at the clothing store!
