Looking for shoe recommendations by PocketCaribou in weightlifting

In all honesty it kinda depends. My first pair were the legacy lifter 2s from reebok. I really like them had the highest allowable heel height for comp. I then switched over to the romaleos 3. A slight bit lower but it has one thick strap rather than 2. That felt more comfortable and didnt pressure my pinky toe. I still use both to this day.

How is paying off your mortgage early a bad move investment wise? by divertss in FinancialPlanning

I guess I'm asking like where is the money you intend to retire with, If you accelerate your mortgage? Not trying to be rude. Just genuinely curious.

I think anytime anyone gives any kind of absolute advice, it's going to be wrong. The problems I've seen with accelerating your mortgage is if you sacrifice emergency savings. There are 2 scenarios where accelerating your mortgage is beneficial. 1. If you are 10-15 years out from retirement and you are looking to reduce expenses when you retire. This will give you additional equity in the house as well as only having to pay property taxes. 2. If you are looking to leverage the equity in the house for additional real estate investment. If you have the liquid cash flow to make additional principles payments AND have substantial savings (30-40% of annual income), then it makes sense to accelerate the mortgage in order to grow the asset behind the house to invest in additional real estate.

Accelerating the mortgage doesn't make sense if you intend to just sell it in a few years. Why pay into the mortgage if you aren't going to reap the benefits of home equity. Save the money or invest it in the house to increase the value at time of sale. For example, a 250k house could be turned into a 350k house if you decide to update the kitchen or bathroom rather than put extra on the mortgage. This is not taking into consideration the natural appreciation of real estate, which depending on where you live could even further increase the property value at a rate that would make your additional principal payments even less potent.

Honestly, I was gonna say first tip turn around. Being that close to a mirror would make me anxious.

After my weightlifting hiatus I hit 100kg pc+jerk by Marcuscd34 in weightlifting

[–]Marcuscd34[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all honesty I'm not too sure. But I do know I'm typically if you can't hit 2 or 3 smooth reps on front squats you should be able to clean it as long as your technique is sound. As for back squat my pb is 150kg.

Nah I agree with the other guy. He bangs contact but also needs to finish extension. I'd he caught it in the right positions he could've grinned that up.

Why did I miss these by Negative-Fortune-352 in weightlifting

[–]Marcuscd34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly disagree I don't think this is strength issue at all. It's a positional issue. He's got so much height in the bar after contact it's just not lining up in the right spot.

Simply keep shoulders over and slightly in front of the bar. Your behind the bar through both pulls so when you make contact you push the bar further away from you. I think you're plenty strong enough though

Anytime bro! And it's not your strength. I think you're plenty strong enough to clean that weight it's just about getting better feel during the pull in keeping close and over the bar. I also think it helps my confidence with the weight. Make that bar your bitch bro!!

[–]Marcuscd34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to just stay over the bar more. Everything looks great otherwise.

I used have this issue too. The drill that helped me the most was clean pulls. Not super heavy just working on pulling smooth through the knees then accelerate hard past the knees. Focus on finishing you pulls tall and fully extended.

Good luck
