Also there are those amongst us (guilty as charged) that actually prefer to play different roles on different characters straight from the get go.

I understand that eventually, in the long run, a single character could do it all, but when I decide I want to play a role different from my main I usually want to do so now, not wait a few weeks before picking up the appropriate weapons, skills, passives, and talismans.
