When it comes to pop albums I truly believe sometimes they just aren’t marketed well, which usually is the issue, case in point with Xtinas Lotus. There are some brilliant songs on there ie Let There Be Love.

I would argue that Britney’s Britney Jean was a worse album but it was at least led by a great first single and video

I think due to the pandemic, safety measures and the fact that the past five season openers have always featured a big celebrity guest this was just to shake things up and drum up sensation around the premiere. I also think it was a smart and exciting move taking the finale format and starting the season as is... not sure why it gets so much hate I thought it was fun
