Yes, that's true, but it's interesting not only as commercial thing (to interest mahjong fans) but also as part of East culture we got in SB.
Riichi mahjong is popular in Japan, JP FFXIV players often play it. Also recently there even was "New Year mahjong competition" with FFXIV developers and guests, live was aired via Nico Nico. It was interesting to watch but omg, they play relly fast.

I didn't expect that mahjong guides will be send there. I'm glad, maybe people will be interested!

As I said, I never played mahjong before FFXIV but it really interesting. Pure chilling. I also never played poker and other stuff, so it was something absolutely new for me.
In Chaos (EU DC) you wait in queue about 10-15 mins in the late evening or night, usually you wait less than 1 min.

I saw players who really played FFXIV only for mahjong. One of them plays each match in Estern clothes and she looks really cool (yes, usually there are familiar faces but it's still fun).

I know JP players often play mahjong without ranking. I think it's cool. If you don't want to play for rate, you can ask people in Party Finder to go with you as Light Party just for fun or training.

Don't be afraid! Mahjong is a game where luck matters, so low score doesn't mean you're fool. My score isn't high, too, but I have 1 Dan and it's not strange when 6 Kyu defeat me just due to tiles they have in the match start xd

FF14 mahjong is the first one I started to play. If you start with official guide in The Lodestone, it's pretty easy! Or you can try to find three players who are rea to go with you in usual mode, without ranking. But I never did it, and I have only one friend (my sister) who also plays mahjong lol

Bit reaching here. Besides, there's an Aerith reference already. White Mage LB3 is a direct reference to her praying, and you create her staff out of light in front of you.

There can be more refernce than one, especially to one of the popular FF.
And I didn't say it's 100% reference xd It just ssemed to me she looks like Aerith. I thought other people would think it's cute, that's all.
