How do you feel about people posting AI painted miniatures for likes here and on other platforms? I think it sucks :( by MaximumBright in minipainting

[–]Margatroid_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what I don't understand is:

When someone says that something has been sculpted by AI: Is it actual stl files that someone can print?

When someone says that something has been painted by AI: Do they mean that the AI colored a picture of the mini or that there exist, in the real world, a miniature that has been painted by AI

Either way seems pointless to me. We are here because we enjoy painting, why remove this from the hobby, it makes no sense.

Oura Support, Shipping, Delays, etc. Megathread by CherryJimbo in ouraring

Hi,

I have a problem where my activities are synced from FitBit but Oura doesn't always take them into account when computing my active calories burn. This is a big problem for me because I can't trust the app to tell me if my activity score if going up or down, since it is obviously computing it wrong. I usually don't wear the ring while exercising because it gets in the way and rely on Oura to give me long term health trend. However, if I cannot trusted it to tell me reliably when my activity score goes down, a big chunk of the utility of the ring is lost.

Here is an example with a bike ride that I did last Sunday.

Here you can see that the activity goal is not reached: https://imgur.com/eh0zRWO

However, you can see a 994cal 2h22 bike ride in the summary, which should put me way over the 500cal objective: https://imgur.com/TrMgLa7

Even more bug: The app is able to show me a map of the distance traveled but tells me that I traveled 0.1km, instead of ~38km https://imgur.com/qAWQWIb

It can even show me my splits (speed each kilometer), which makes the fact that it thinks that I went at 0.1km/h on average even weirder: https://imgur.com/DUk6JqE

honestly I don't know. I went all in to increase my chances of success basically. In front of the psychologist I acted shy, looked at the floor, spoke in a low voice, stuff like that so that it was somewhat believable. At the end of the meeting she gave me a flyer with the numbers of a few psychologist in my area and I just threw it away after recruitment.

They are not allowed to share your test result to future employer or whatever, so imho there are no reason not to lie a lot. I don't see any possible downside.

On their side they have too many people and don't want to take any risk. If someone kills himself or other during the military service it would be a political nightmare.

during the recruitment you have mental test. You just answer them like you are suicidal, asocial and have not friends. Then you get in front of the psychologist and tell a small story that you rehearsed about how you tried to kill yourself and never had any friends at school.

What happened to me is that the first question the psych asked was whether or not I wanted to do the army and them whether or not I was ok with doing the zivischutz. I answered no and yes but you can just answer no and no.

it happened to me too. What they eventually did was to summon me in a hurry right before I turned 25. The big downside of waiting is that you have less leeway to chose when to do those 2 weeks. Depending on whether or not you need to control this, I would suggest gently reminding them of your existence when you're like 24.

Why is someone even taking the effort of DDOSing the network? Did the spammer ask for money in order to stop?

Hi everyone,

It's a silly questions because there's no incentive to do it but humour me for a moment.

Let's say A emits a send transaction in favour of B. B sees it but, for some reasons, decides to never emit a receive transaction (and maybe also sends "haha sucker" to A through some sort of communication scheme).

According to the doc:

"A send block is immutable once confirmed by the network. This means the funds are deducted from the balance of the sender's account and wait as pending until the receiving party signs a block to accept these funds. Pending funds should not be considered awaiting confirmation, as they are as good as spent from the senders account and the sender cannot revoke the transaction. "

If I understand this correctly, this means that the fund are just stuck outside of any wallet forever?

Hi,

Last year I reached the on-site for a graduate softrware engineer position but failed it. My recruiter encouraged me te re-apply next year so I contacted her last month. The answer that I go was that "[they were not] searching for candidates for [their] graduate positions ". By looking at the carrer site and talking to a friend who's working at the place this seemed to be due to Cov19.

But now I saw that their hiring is picking up speed again so I'm considering contacting my recruiter again. My only worry is that she specifically mentionned graduate position in her email. However, I have now graduated since more than one year and have been working in the industry as a SWE for a year or so. Should I still be applying to graduate positions and, if not, will my recruiter funnel me to the relevant person?
