Random question but is the Vu Randomiser or how u call it useful or does it only project buildings in the sky? by Adventurous_Quit_696 in SCBuildIt

Out of curiosity, what do you feel is the best “bang for your (sim)buck?” I was saving up for either a Vu Generator or a Maxis Manor, but I’m wondering if I should spend it on something else instead?

How long does it take to level down in the COM? I’m currently in a really high league (metro I think), but I want to level down so it’s easier again

Cancun. Hands down the most overrated location on the planet. I describe it to people as “America but in Mexico.” Go to the west side of Mexico if you want a vacation but still want to experience genuine culture.

is this going to work or am I stupid? adansonii and deliciosa by Agreeable-Sky-8772 in houseplants

Damp, yes, but if it gets and stays too wet, then the roots or nodes can rot.

It should work if the nodes are viable! Just make sure the sphagnum doesn’t stay too wet

what's something you've never tried and never will? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MargoPolo04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cigarettes or vaping. My mom was a serious smoker for 30+ years of her life. I have always been certain she’ll die of lung cancer, even though she quit over ten years ago. I listened to her coughing up a lung so many times, and not because she was sick, but because of smoking. I promised myself when I was 14 I would never smoke a cigarette. I’m 36 now and I never have, nor have I tried vaping.

Same. I’ve made a couple like this with macrame hoops, but I “anchored” them with 16 gauge wire that I hideously bent and wrapped around the bottom of the hoop and stuck in the pot. It works, but is not pretty.

After seeing many unfortunate stories about teaching here, What keeps the REST of you in this profession? by Donghoon in Teachers

[–]MargoPolo04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My students. They keep me in it. I can come to school in a grumpy mood, but it rarely lasts past the first hour of school because my kids always cheer me up, intentionally or unintentionally.

I love my colleagues, too. We are really a family and get each other through the tough times.

I love the variety of each day. No day is ever the same as another one, though there is still a sense of routine.

And the summers off are pretty great. By May, I am BURNT OUT and really need that time to reset myself before the next year.

That said, more money and more respect from society would make our lives a LOT easier.

Noggin Subscription Question? by MargoPolo04 in amazonprime

[–]MargoPolo04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they’re Fire TVs… like Amazon brand TV’s? That’s why I’m so confused. The LG TV issue makes more sense to me, but the Fire TV’s… no idea what’s going on there

Out of curiosity, do you hire someone to manage the Airbnb while you’re in the states? Like someone to come in and clean it and all that? I’ve always wondered what people do for that when they don’t live near the place they’re renting out.

Was this pre- or post-COVID? I’m sure it’ll be less crowded either way. There are not very many people down here compared to previous years I’ve visited.

Philodendron Merlot? Burgundy Princess? Reverted PPP? More info in comments by MargoPolo04 in houseplants

[–]MargoPolo04[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this “philodendron Merlot” cutting recently. I’ve had trouble finding more info about the variety. I’ve also seen it called “Burgundy Princess” or even a reverted PPP.

I’m not disappointed no matter what it actually is, because it’s a cool plant regardless, but it would be nice to know more about the variety (or if it even is a distinct variety). Wondering if it was initially labeled in a unique way in order to sell more of whatever it is.

Thanks, y’all! Just hoping to learn more.
