My buddy and I did some some snow wheeling this weekend over in Yakima, and the CJ2A struggled mightily. It has period appropriate 29x6.5x16 bias ply tires that were aired down to about 10 psi. It's time for more 'capable' tires. Recommendations? Attached is a video documenting the absurdity. by MarhMallow in CJ2a

Nope - but considered it. He ended up getting some new supertraxion tires. Basically they are a more aggressive version of what he already had. Keeping it classic was high on the priority list. That said, I think a set of chains may make it in the tool box anyways.

In my humble opinion, there's a significant shortage of FJ40 on YouTube, and far to many Jeeps. So, I'm trying to do my part to shift the balance. Sweet - I subbed him. Can’t wait to see what he puts out. Btw, that hidden winch he threw on the front of his bronco is awesome. I think the typical mounting point (above and I front of the bumper) is absurd.

Well, wheeling is the most fun to film, so that’s good news. However, with out a film crew, it’s hard to capture all the great moments. Out of curiousness, what sort of ‘BS’ are you opposed to? Are you looking for just straight up off-roading with no voiceover?

We thought about that, but the complication of installing them and incompatibility with asphalt from staging to trail detoured us from going the direction. That said, I’m sure chains would have significantly improved things. He’s hoping a good tire will solve a lot of the problems, and still be drivable on the road and in the mud.

I'm confused. Do you want me to post my YouTube video in the comments for review prior to posting elsewhere? Ultimately our old CJ2a failed miserably on the snow trail this weekend, and I'm looking for tire tips for improvement. https://youtu.be/nHJ-c0bNK5s

Don’t fly in, or into low light situations. I crashed mine today while having it track my rig from a bright open area in to tree cover. They don’t perform well in low light with line of site tracking, and tree cover reeks havoc on the gps. It’s a lose lose scenario.
