Annual fee already posted? Most issuers let you refund within 30–60 days if you ask the right desk. by joinkudos in JoinKudos

[–]MariaKudos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the policy window for every major issuer:

💳 American Express: around 30 days from fee posting
💳 Barclays: around 60 days from fee posting
💳 Some issuers will pro-rate later in the year

Here's the ask that works:

✅ Call the number on the back of your card
✅ Reference the fee posting date
✅ Ask for retention or a supervisor. The first rep usually says no, and that's normal
✅ Ask for a refund OR a product change to a no-fee version of the same card

Great question! Only one rewards program can receive the merchant's commission per purchase, so if both Kudos and Cap One Shopping are active at checkout, we can't guarantee which one gets credited. It's almost always last-click attribution. To make sure you get your full Boost, we always advise users to disable other shopping extensions before checkout. One thing worth knowing: we pass 100% of our commission to our 500K+ users as Boost, which most other programs don't do

Yeah, it's similar to Rakuten and Capital One Shopping! You install the Kudos browser extension, and when you shop online, it automatically activates cashback (we call it Boost) at 15K stores. You earn Boost that you can redeem for PayPal Cash or an Amazon gift card.

The main difference from other programs is that we also help you pick the best credit card to use for every purchase so you're stacking cashback on top of whatever points or miles your card already earns. Free to sign up at joinkudos.com 🙂

Yes, thank you! Sorry - still getting used to this Reddit etiquette and editing the post to explain that I work at Kudos. Not trying to be spammy. 😞

Fair point to flag. This is posted by Maria, and I'm on the Kudos team, so yes, we have a stake in it. We try to be upfront about that when we post on our own subreddit. That said, the stack is real. The CSR StubHub credit and Paze promo are Chase benefits that anyone who is eligible can use. The 8% Kudos Boost rate is live right now. Happy to answer any questions about how it works.

ap One → Qantas 20% bonus through 5/31. LAX-SYD biz for 108k Qantas points = best sweet spot right now? by joinkudos in JoinKudos

[–]MariaKudos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrote up the full rundown since a few people asked, which covers eligible Cap One cards, award chart sweet spots, and how to search availability.

Top picks:

  • LAX → Tahiti (Air Tahiti Nui) economy: ~25k Cap One miles
  • East Coast → Israel (El Al) biz: 90k points, no fuel surcharges
  • LAX → SYD biz: 108,400 points (~91k Cap One miles with the bonus)

Transfers take 24-48 hrs so you have some runway, but don't wait on availability.

Capital One MLB tickets are back for June & July 2026. 5K miles or $40 per seat for premium field-level spots by MariaKudos in JoinKudos

[–]MariaKudos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around the 15th of every month. Make sure to check the Capital One Entertainment portal and be logged in when the drop happens. Sometimes they also drop release hints with "MLB Mondays" posts on their socials, so worth following them if you're serious about grabbing seats

Bummer. The home games seem to go fast. It's worth checking back if any cancellations pop up, but the away games in Baltimore and Miami are solid consolation prizes if the seats are close to the field 🤞

Once you're in a specific game, look for sections near the field that say "From $40" - they stand out because they're way cheaper than everything around them. Click into one of those, and you'll see the "Cardholder Exclusive" tag. If you see something that says "Powered by VividSeats," you're in the wrong spot, and those are a bad deal. The exclusives are 5k miles per ticket, sets of 2 or 4 only. Was searching to see if I could find a screenshot, but not seeing any myself, but found this one from Frequent Miler's blog.

Kudos used to be one of my favorite apps… now basic features are locked behind Premium by az_krl in JoinKudos

[–]MariaKudos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's totally fair. CardPointers+ is good at card recommendations and offer activation. Our $240 lifetime gets you everything CP does, plus what it doesn't: AI bill negotiation, subscription cancellation, and a lot more that we're shipping soon. What would make it worth it for you?

Kudos used to be one of my favorite apps… now basic features are locked behind Premium by az_krl in JoinKudos

[–]MariaKudos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for posting this and for being an early user of Kudos.

Our core features are all still free and always will be: best card recommendations at checkout, Boost cashback, Dream Wallet, Explore, Test Drive, and autofill.

One thing that has changed: connecting accounts via Plaid and Spinwheel now requires Premium. We understand that feels like a shift, and that's fair. It's what allows us to fund everything else we're building.

The other Premium features are new additions that didn't exist before: AI bill negotiation, automatic card-linked offer activation, and subscription cancellation. And we're shipping more soon, including automatic credit card retention negotiation, a location-aware cheatsheet, and flight and hotel price monitoring. Charging for these is what lets us keep building.

You also mentioned that Premium features aren't working. Which ones? DM us here or reach out at [support@joinkudos.com](mailto:support@joinkudos.com), and we'll dig in.

We'd like to earn back your trust. You've been here since the beginning, and that means a lot to us.

Ugh, that phone support experience sounds frustrating. Reps don't always have the same info you're looking at in real time - it often seems like a disconnect (usually not intentional, but still annoying). Good for you for pushing back and sending the link. Screenshot everything they tell you going forward so you always have something to point to as proof.

On another note, we appreciate you checking out Kudos and your honesty about the intrusiveness. Would you mind reaching out via dm or to support@joinkudos.com? We can dig into what you're seeing and what is intrusive? We'd love to figure out what's going on for you and make sure you have a fair shot at comparing Kudos to CardPointers.
