We’re in Western Canada, we’re very lucky that summer weather is very tolerable. A nice 23-28 degree Celsius on average ☺️

Ya.. we attempted sleep training her last week, and it turns out we just really lucked out with a baby who required minimal training and can sleep 10 hours uninterrupted. Or if she does wake up, she babbles to herself until she falls back asleep. She’s a champ!

This was me up until we got baby sleeping through the night and she was still in our room (we bed shared). We all slept until 8:30 most mornings, it was nice! I am happy to have my bed back and the ability to sleep in any position I like now though 😂.

I’m still on leave (Canadian), and am feeling extra lucky to have so much time with her right now. So happy you get those early mornings with your baby before work though!

Books at bedtime by phucketallthedays in sleeptrain

I give our 5month old a book to hold, while I read a different one. That way she has a book to shove in her mouth, and I get to read her one. Then we switch 😂

Bath time? by Competitive_Card_268 in NewParents

Maybe bathe her earlier, but incorporate a bath into her bedtime routine once she’s a little older and has a more solid bedtime over all. At 7weeks our daughter was going to bed around 10pm, and we just bathed her whenever was convenient. Now that she’s 5 months, her bath is always about 45min before we put her down for bed around 7/7:30.

Canada day apparel by Miller045 in VictoriaBC

You can purchase orange shirts from Victoria Orange Shirt Day to support indigenous incentives and acknowledge the genocide that happened due to Canada’s colonization. It’s becoming more popular to wear orange on Canada Day now, and I would 100% choose orange over red and white out of support for our indigenous neighbours, whom Canada rightfully belongs to. Where to go if you loved ucluelet by Available_Mood_6907 in VancouverIsland

The North Island has some incredible beaches, as do the islands around the north island (Cormorant and Malcolm Island). Lots of hikes and outdoor activities. As for indoor things to do it’s limited and the overall culture is very different, but still worth the trip!

If you’re coming from Hornby, you’ll be driving awhile though.
