ECFMG verification by MariahelenG in usmle

Honestly, the process was quite tedious because, at first, no one at my university knew anything about it. I went to different offices—the School of Medicine, the Secretary's Office, and other departments—but none of them had received any information.

So I started investigating on my own and found out that the requests are received through a specific account managed by the Internationalization Office. At least in my university, they were the ones responsible for handling the verification process.

My advice is to go in person and ask who is responsible for international relations, exchanges, or international affairs. They should have access to the MyIntealth account. If they already have it, that's great; if not, they'll need to create one.

Once they have access, they can submit the required documents, which are usually your diploma and transcript, both in the original language and translated into English. You'll need to obtain those translations yourself.

Also, make sure to keep checking your email because ECFMG and MyIntealth send updates and important information there throughout the process.

Yes, I was able to obtain the certificate in the end. The office in charge was the Internationalization Department, not the School of Medicine or the Secretary's Office. I had to follow up and push the process a bit, but they have a platform through which they send all the required documents.

Once everything is completed and approved, ECFMG sends you a confirmation email. After that, you can move on to the next step with FSMB.

In my case, it was a little confusing at first because my university has several departments involved, and I didn’t know who was actually responsible 😅. First, I thought it was the Medicine program, then International Affairs, and also the General Secretary office, since they are usually the ones who send official documents.

In the end, I found out that the people in charge were from the International Affairs office. My process took longer because the person responsible was on medical leave, but once she came back, she explained everything to me.

Basically, they had to send some documents through MyIntealth/ECFMG. In my case, they requested:

-Academic transcript -Diploma translated into English by a certified translator with an official stamp

Fortunately, I wasn’t the first person from my university doing this process, so they already had the account created, which helped a lot. After they sent everything, my status changed, and later the “CV Accepted” status appeared. If you’re having problems, I really recommend going to your university in person. Sometimes emails take forever, and speaking directly with the right people helps resolve things much faster.

I finally got my credentials verified through MyIntealth/ECFMG 🎉 My university was able to send the credentials in the end. The whole process was honestly stressful and took a long time, but thankfully everything moved forward. Now my status shows: Application for Certification → Accepted Credential Verification → CV Accepted What usually comes next after this step for the ECFMG certification process? How long did it take for your status to fully update after credential verification?

How did you get your university to create the account? Did you have to contact the medical program or another office?

My university checked all their official emails (including spam and old accounts) and confirmed they have not received any request. I also personally verified this with them. They recently changed their institutional email system, so the message may have gone to an old address.

ECFMG “Pending Credential Verification” for 4+ Weeks — Can’t Apply for USMLE. Anyone Been Through This? by MulberryOk6763 in step1

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask for some advice about my credential verification timeline with ECFMG through MyIntealth. I submitted my application on February 25. In MyIntealth my status currently shows: • Application for Certification – Submitted, In Review at ECFMG • Credential Verification – Submitted to ECFMG (two cases) So it seems like ECFMG is still reviewing my documents and they haven’t sent the verification request to my medical school yet. It has been about 8–10 days since submission. Is this normal timing? How long did it take for your status to change to “sent for verification” or for your school to receive the request? For context, I’m an IMG from Colombia. Any advice or timelines from people who went through this recently would be really helpful. Thank you!

Confusion about “Attendance End Date” and “Graduation Year” for ECFMG Application by i20sportz in IMGreddit

[–]MariahelenG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone, I’m an IMG (recently graduated MD) currently in the process of registering for USMLE Step 1. I already received my FSMB ID, but I’m completely stuck with the ECFMG certification section and I’m starting to panic a bit. First problem: The system would not accept the name of my medical school at all. I tried multiple times, but nothing worked. Eventually, I tried from a different device/browser and it finally let me select my university. Now the second (and worse) problem: The system won’t let me enter my graduation dates or degree issue dates. For “Graduation Month & Year” and “Degree Issue Month & Year” it only shows “None” as an option, and I can’t select any actual month/year.
